No, development of the M6SE was postponed while Meizu focused on the M8. JW has estimated that the M6SE which will now apparently become the M7 will possibly be finalised around March 2008.

judging by the fifth picture madman posted on page 4, looks like it has a brushed aluminium back? maybe it's just the lightning but who knows...?

I think they will have brushed metal backs, I just got my 4GB M3 back today after returning it to Meizu for repair and they have sent me a new one that has a brushed metal back.

Also according to JW there are 2 different fonts in the M6SL firmware, menu entries highlighted by the menu bar will be display in larger text. This will be in the new M6 firmware as well.

Was a comment by J Wong on Meizu BBS, also if you look at the promo photo of the M6SL you can see a larger font is displayed on the menu bar item.

will M6 support CUE sheets to play APE and will it read track names from CUE?

will it also support HIGH and EXTRA HIGH modes of APE?

my girlfriend just bought me a new 8GB dane-elec m6 to replace my old classic 2GB chinese m6 bought last christmas that was stolen/lost. so far i dont like that i can't use the right arrow to go deeper into a submenu, but the really annoying hiss seemed my shure e4c's which was my biggest annoyance, however it could just be because it disengages the audio chip while paused, so it seems like the hiss IS still there, just hidden. i will do more testing,

will the hiss be gone with the new M6 SL? that is my main concern, and of course when it will be available and whether i can exchange it.

also, will my m6 silicone case fit the SL?

How would anyone know about hiss until the thing is released?
Why would you expect an exchange just because a newer model is released?
I doubt a case designed for a player 10mm thick will fit well on a player only 7.3mm thick.

- in the newest firmware you can't use the right arrow to enter submenus, you have to use the enter button, or tap the middle of the touchpad

- hissing still exists, but the new audio chip should solve the problem

- if you read the first post you'll know the release date

- the silicone case will be too large for the new SL, because of it's thinness...

of course there would be speculation or some answer because it was one of the main complained about things for the m6.

i would expect an exchange because i just got it as noted, but obviously i would have to wait till it arrives in that store or just get my money back


2.7 mm is pretty small considering the case was designed to be stretched onto the 10mm one

and that's the release date for china, any projections for the US/EUR?

So.... any news on this now? It is supposed to be released on the 25th of this month anybody get a hold of one yet?
