Custom Fonts for Meizu M6 Now Possible

A recent breakthrough in Meizu M6 customization was recently made by member Asmo, who has created a program that allows you to change the system font used in your M6 Mini Player.

It works by patching the M6 firmware resource file with your font of choice, and so far, attempts by members have been proven successful.

Instructions & download: m6_font_import tool

Very cool. Now support Thai Tag-ID use with [For whom don't know Thai Unicode Rang only]

font.txt:
Tahoma
700
0x0E00 0x0E7F

This is good concept to make-font from system and convert to Bitmap font
And It will better if the tool can adjust font metric for some lang. have some Ident each char [I justifled TTF-font but the tool not justifed in Firmware]

hm..it seems to me that they run the program twice to change the english font and then the chinese font..

This is how they do it:

Make 2 text files:

en_font.txt
Mistral
DEFAULT
700
0x0021 0x007e

cn_font.txt
LiSu
DEFAULT
1000
0x4e00 0x9fa5

< > = Denotes the resource files for the skin

run in command prompt (For English Font):
m6_font_import.exe <original> en_font.txt <english output>

run in command prompt (For Chinese Font):
m6_font_import.exe <english output> cn_font.txt <final output>

they also use the program "Font Fitting Room Deluxe" to check the name of the chinese font

The red box in the picture indicates the Font Name that is used with the conversion.

They also say that if you use GB2312 then the traditional chinese might not be able to be displayed. Therefore you need to use GBK supported font's as well. This can be checked in the program "Font Fitting Room Deluxe"

Unicode to GB2312 or GBK table

Hope this info was useful for the people who don't understand chinese as the source was from meizu bbs

Cheers,

I got that program shown above, but it has no use because you cannot rename your fonts... anyone know of any good programs to do so? Like really to give the font a total new name?
