iversonjack I just downloaded half a dozen chinese fonts from this site : http://www.font.com.cn/ and had no problems loading any of them. After you extract the font, double click it to open it in the font viewer and note it's name.

I used the method shown above on meizu bbs creating 2 font.txt files one for English and one for Chinese and running it twice.

ch_font.txt

Your Font Name
DEFAULT
700
0x4e00 0x9fa5

en_font.txt

Your Font Name
DEFAULT
700
0x0021 0x007e

First run command: m6_font_import.exe resource.bin en_font.txt first.bin

Second run command: m6_font_import.exe first.bin cn_font.txt final.bin

Copy final.bin to your player rename and reboot.

madman, that website seems to not work for me. This site is also good for font downloads (a Chinese website).

It's been a while since someone has responded to this topic but I would still like to know how I can change the font on my Meizu M6.

I got my Meizu yesterday and I've already put a skin and some firmware on it, with success. However, I would like to change the font since it's damn ugly.

I don't understand the first post of this topic at all so can anyone explain it more clear to me?

Thanks in advance.

Get this program: http://www.meizume.com/modifications...port-tool.html

Now open the font.txt file and change the first three lines to the font of your choice. Next select your character set, leave DEFAULT to have it set to your current computer regional setting, then adjust the boldness of the fonts (the next two lines) if you wish. Last two lines are used to include specific ranges in the font, such as special characters used in certain languages. If you don't need them, don't mess around with them.

Here's a font.txt sample to make your life easier:

After you made the replacements, save the file, copy your current resource.bin to the program's folder, then open up a command prompt and navigate to that folder in the command prompt. Now type in m6_font_import resource.bin font.txt changed.bin and hit enter. Copy changed.bin to the root of your player, rename it to resource.bin, and perform the upgrade as usual.

Now good luck finding a font that the M6 likes, i looked for hours last night and eventually got to use good ol' Georgia.

Thumbs up Best Font Out there

This is the best Font for M6 FW (2.004.x)

Its Called Ubuntu Titling. Its the best I find after HOURS of searching. Its really good, it wont change unless im dead or the m6 is no more.

Use the (cmd version) of the font import cuz its OpenType.

In the font.txt, change all three fonts to this one. dont Change nothing else.

When u put it on, plz dont go crazy. just tell me thanx
Attached Files
File Type: zip UbuntuTitling.zip (13.3 KB, 52 views)

thats true. everyone has different taste. I like simplicity and it looks smooth and good. What I notice, the ubuntu Titling font doesnt look good in microsoft word. I was disappointed. But after it is on the m6, it looks totally different and cool.

NB. U have to put it on to see the real deal

Try it and tell me what u think

I did try it last night, but still, Georgia remained my font of choice. I need a font that's a little more bold, as i've got very good vision but it's one thing going through the menus at home staying in bed and another thing when i'm on the street. UbuntuTitling, Calibri, Segoe and all such fonts are too thin to be well visible when in motion. :P

Thank you a lot for your quick help but I still don't understand it. First, which folder are you talking about and what is 'the command prompt' ? :x Yes, I did download your link and unzipped it but when I click the program it just appears for 1 second and disappears again.

I hope you can help me once again. Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the late reply, missed that one.

The command prompt is a command prompt thingy. It can be accessed by going into Start -> Run, typing in cmd and hitting enter. A black window with grey text will pop up.

Make a folder of your choice, preferably at the root of your C: drive to make life easier. Let's say you make a font folder. Copy your resource.bin there, put the m6_font_import program and font.txt file in there too.

Now in the black box type in cd \ and hit enter to navigate to the root directory. You should be displayed with a C:\> prompt, navigate to the font folder you just created by typing cd font and hitting enter.

Type in m6_font_import resource.bin font.txt changed.bin, hit enter. Now copy the changed.bin file to your M6, rename it to resource.bin and upgrade as usual.

Good luck!
