how is $400 not cheap! is everyone having a joke. A Nokia n95 costs $650 offline and an 8gb iphone costs even more than that offline! (nearer $700) and you must have a minumum 2 year contract to fully activate it anyway. Neither has a spec list or codec support close to the meizu m8. The nokia n95 does have 3g, however meizu will be implementing this in later models (just as apple will probably do with the european iphone) and i'm sure if a 16gb model m8 emerges with 3g it will still be cheaper than the n95 and the iphone. It must also be remembered this is unlike anything meizu had ever made as it's firmware is based on windows architecture too (unlike the m3 & the m6) and im sure microsoft want us to pay for this 'luxury'. This is cutting edge mobile technology, anyone who thought the m8 was going to be as cheap as the original list price was a bit niave if u ask me.

But an iPhone is 500 usd. I know that iPhone sucks and everything but, it's still an iPhone.

400 usd is not expensive, but it's defenitly not good for being a Meizu.

True, the iPhone is $500, but that if for the 4GB variety. The 8GB flavor is $600, and the Meizu is only $400. The M8 will supposedly have a removable battery. The iPhone doesn't. You also have to sign a 2-year contract with America's worst network, Cingular. If you want the iPhone's battery replaced, that's over $100. And I mean come on, an 8GB iPod nano is $250 and it has a 1.5" screen. It doesn't have a removable battery. It's not a phone. I know it's not really a good comparison, but for $150 more than an iPod nano, you have have a phone with a bigger screen and removable battery.

I would be a bit worried about the software. This thing must be much more complicated than the M6 which they still (1 year on market) havent been able to make bugfree. Sad to say it but i think the Iphone-software will be alot more stable, and have better support overall.

Is it worth the $200 extra? Is it worth giving up the removable battery? Is it worth giving up an unlocked phone?

Oh com'on, we don't know how the M8 will be yet. But atm, iPhones GUI = awesome. If M8s GUI will be so good, then it will be worth it.

Based on the info we have at this point it will most likely work on GSM and GPRS/EGPRS networks but NOT on the north american 3G network(s) as they differ from the European and Asian GSM 3G networks!

There are a few 800x480pixel devices out now:

Sepcifically these:

And some Japanes spec ones:

On the last one I have to say it seems like the Japanese have FANTASTIC eye site because 800 x 480 on a 3" screen is something else! :D
