As I talk with head engineer, this is fake. They don`t making on new FW for M6, but they have focus on developing M8 firmware. But it doesn`t mean, that developing M6 FW was stopped

Thumbs down

If thats true, then im very disappointed.
"Abandoning" a device that is 1 year old and still has bugs in its primary functions is bad.
The M6 is probably the last meizu-device for me.

Seems to me that I will be selling it. An mp3 player that can't get the simple things right. It had a lot of potential too...

In a new thread on Meizu BBS asking when the new firmware for the M6 would be released J Wong responded as follows.

Some English there...

ape要8月底才能把程序做完,估计要9月初才能发布.抱歉
APE will be supported but finished towards the end of August. Estimated release of new firmware around early September.

Help me clear 2 points concerning OTG

Please help me clear 2 points:

1. Meizu M6 currently does not support USB OTG
2. Meizu M6 will probably never support USB OTG, surely not before Sep. 07

I ask because I'm desparately looking for a small flash-based PMP with OTG, andd Meizu have been saying for months that the M6 supports OTG.

Thanks in advance

I don't believe that .APE can be support in new firmware. I remember that J Wong had said that support ape in m6 will make it burning. New hardware must be added to support it.

Angry What's the deal?

What's the deal with the MiniOne US release? Will the device have a phone or not? If it's not going to have a phone, it will defeat the whole entire purpose. Please enlighten me. When will the cellular version be released?

This isn't the proper place for your claim, but any way here goes the answer. Meizu devices only support wma within normal ranges (up to 388, if I recall well)... no lossless is supported... was announced for M3... but is not true.

I hope guys from Meizu, now they know that M8 is having some financial problems, devoted their time to fix the annoyances of their firmware:
. tapping and the end of the tracks.
. clock inaccuracy.
. ridiculous alphabetic order of track within albums.
. bad implementation of MTP.
. incomplete managing of ID3v2.
. support for wma lossless as it was offered.

EDIT 20/09/2007 ... M6 did support WMA lossless properly... M3 did offered this but is not implemented yet

so wait will OTG require an external power supply for the m6 or for the external hard drive?

because my camera works with its batteries, do i need to purchase a separate thing for the m6 for OTG?
