My piece of sh!t is dead for absolutely no reason now. It cost me $240 when I got it, and didn't even mess with the firmware other than upgrading to 1.010 RC4 and changing skins a few times. I might wait to get the new one, if it turns out to be good, but as of this moment, as PO'd as I'm feeling right now, it'd better bhe as good as this new one that's somewhat of a copy in layout, but blows the M6 out of the water in features...

The Oppo Blast

It's a PMP as small as the M6 is, thin as the M6 SE sounds like it's gonna be, supports tons of different video codecs, and the promised m6 audio, displays the same image types, and has a fricken SD card slot for basically infinite memory.

Hope the M6 SE is gonna have this stuff, especially an SD card slot. That thing is only about a centimeter longer, but for infinite storage, just having to buy SD cards, going from "pocket size" M6 to the same "pocket size" blast size would be literally nothing. Unless you have baby size pockets, there's no reason for the M6 to be any smaller than it is, just compromising features that could exist with the extra room... including double the battery life (seriously, I tore this thing apart and the battery is less than half the thickness, so think about it it was half its thickness thicker... 2x battery life, ability to have an SD card slot, and even more).

Also, this thing has dedicated volume/scroll buttons, which I've found just as easy to use in place of scrolling with a touch strip. Hold for fast scroll, it's about the same thing.

I don't know how long I'll hold out waiting, though. My mp3 player was about the only thing keeping me sane at my ludicrously boring job with a tightass supervisor.

EDIT: What the... Error, you also run a Teclast forum??

Can't Wait. The One thing that made me think twice about buying the m6 was the not having TV out. This is a must buy.

I'm Falling for the Meizu

Hey guys, I'm really falling for the Meizu player, it looks fantastic!!!! I want it now!!

What are the odds that Meizu will add a Card reader? I would buy this player at a heart beat if it had a card reader!

Thanks!

Not very likely covertrussian. As far as we know, M6SL is released today and it does not have additional card slot.

I'm really actually looking forward to the SE, because of better resolution and TV out

Is there a direct way to contact Meizu to give them suggestions? I was able to find one email that looked like was close enough, but I'm not totally sure they will able to assist me with that question...

Thanks!

Unless you're some authority, they'd not listen to you. So you have no need for their contact... their marketing department are busy as they are.

Well that sucks... very very much

As I was just starting to really like the player...

I guess this player still might be very worth it at 8GB size, but 16GB would be nicer :D

hi folks!

i'm a bit confused about the different versions of the M6 player.
a friend of mine has the meizu M6 8gb SP version, this is an upgraded version of the original version, i'm right?
and just released is the SL (slim) version, which is only 7mm thick (the older 2 versions were 10mm). and now there will be a new SE version again? or is this the M7 player, who has a whole new body, bigger size and different display?

comparsion fo the players, just to get this clear:
Meizu M6 Player (2005) - 10mm, 2,4"
Meizu M6 Player SP (2006) - 10mm, 2,4"
Meizu M6 Player SL (2007) - 7mm, 2,41"
Meizu M6 Player SE (2008?) - 7mm, 2,41", TV-Out ???

please help to clear this up
cheers from germany!

Good cause the SE would be a rather useless adition to the TP and SP cause the market seems to be shifting towards touchscreen devices and music-phones
