Music is Everywhere! Introducing the Meizu MusicCard

The first details have been released for the new Meizu (M3) MusicCard! It will feature a 176x132 pixel 1.5 inch color screen, a body 6.9mm thin and 39mm wide (length information yet to be released). It will feature a touchpad and will come in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB.
Supported formats will include, apart from the regular, FLAC and WMA Lossless. Battery time is still rated at 20 hours. The sound is said to be better than the miniPlayer, with a higher S/N ratio.
More information as it is made available.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsExciting news! Sounds great! Only 1.6 mm thick. How thick is the Nano?
I only hope "the regular" includes Ogg Vorbis! If it does, I might buy it. If it doesn't I won't!

Looks too much like the G1 iPod Nano IMO. Let's see what they do with the bottom half of the player... I hope it can have a credit card shape.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsNot bad but resembles the Nano an awful lot! Hopefully the lower part will be smaller and will not have something resembling Apple's wheel...

What's the point of not releasing the length at the same time? It doesn't make any sense.

That's marketing ... a little torture for Apple and iPod nano users

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsmaybe Meizu hasn't yet decided what to do with the bottom part. lol. :D
edit: ok, judging from the fact that meizu has just created a contest about the musiccard, it seems i was correct (well, at least partially) that meizu has not yet fully decided what to do with the bottom part.
ah... wish i could join but i don't have a creative bone on my body. sigh.Last edited by glacier; 12-17-2006 at 02:29 AM.

hmm...looks to be an same concept as the first nano releases....but no clickwheel of course...that's patented...
...im not a real big fan of the nano and it's small screen...me likes big screen...i hope they just continue with the path they've taken with the miniplayer...bigger screen perhaps...
...but i guess there are people who'd appreciate this.

Why do they call this thing a MusicCARD? Only because it's "so" thin?
The M6 looks like a card, but the M3 looks rather like a stick with its Apple form.

Guys... sometimes that's called market strategy, some others just development process.

I'm sorry, but that just doesn't make sense. If they haven't decided, then the product is not developed. To release the top half and call it a product announcement is just plain bizzare. If it's a marketing strategy, I also don't see the point. People will have to see what the entire player looks like eventually, and at that point they will either like or not like it. Not telling them what it looks like now will not make them like it later if they woiuldn't like it now. As far as legal problems, that's also bizzare. First, you can't patent dimensions, and if it is the same size as the Nano, it will still have to be released at some time in the future, so not showing the size now avoids nothing.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHowever, if it was only the top part, it would practically be a music card, like the new apple shuffle, but with a screen.
How cool would that be!The GUN pointed at the HEAD of the UNIVERSE
