Well... Would it not be at least fair to say that Meizu has been 'inspired' by the iPhone? And also, would it not be correct to say that that's not actually a big deal?

Suffice it to say, I can't really fathom the all-out hatred for Apple and the iPod that I've noticed in some. Live and let live! This, though, might be another point entirely.

Anyway, the only thing that makes me cringe a little is to see the IE logo as their basic web icon. Living in China, and being an electronics enthusiast, I've hundreds upon hundreds of electronics that would just take logos from someone else's software (usually OS X) as icons in their product. Popular are the iTunes icon, the iCal and iPhoto icons, as well as a slew of other symbols.

If you've got the resources to come up with your own hardware and software, why not take out a little extra effort to at least have some original (or perhaps some inexpensive stock) imagery in your little machine?

Maybe because the browser will actually be IE, since the device is supposed to operate under windows CE .. ?

If that is so, then I'll humbly take back what I said.

Still really like it. The looks are important of course, but the main thing is the specs, and they are looking good, and haven't changed I think. So just gimme 1 NOW!

The latest renderings from the official Meizu BBS show that Meizu has changed the looks of the M8 miniOne phone for less Apple iPhone similarity.
Am I the only one so blind and unsensible that I am NOT seeing any differences worth justifing the quoted text?

The new top seems to have a visible speaker (or something like that), the lateral buttons maybe have switched places and the frontal Meizu-button has been transformed in a standard button.
And it seems overall slightly bigger...or it may be a trick of the mind, trying to FIND any actual changes.

Now, there are some differences...ok...but HOW are they meant to make the M8 look less like the iPhone?
The general design is still identical! (and the final miniOne will still be better than the iPhone but that's another story)

Looks like a m8 to me not an iphone... if it looked like an iphone it would have an apple on the back. I guess they had to make it bigger cause the electronics would not have fit in the original design :/ And i think they just removed a bouton at the bottom all together. Looks like a mic to me

Meh - no substantial change. Maybe if they changed the color scheme of the casing, made it into a slider (very thin slider), and had a useful Meizu-specific program on it, then it would be an interesting buy...

... and it still does not function as a phone in North America or Europe!

So no, it's not an iPhone - it couldn't be.
