Steve Jobs responds to fan regarding Meizu legal dispute

I think Apple (Steve Jobs) is just trying to grab some attention in China, and Meizu is just an unfortunate company. There are atleast another 100 companies that have BETTER "copies" than the M8....

If Apple really wants to get bitchy, HP should sue them for copyng their "slate" form factor from the HP Ipaq phones....how about the LG prada, which btw came out a year before the iphone did.

I want to see Meizu take this headon with Apple in China. "Come sue me on my turf, bitches." This publicity does not really hurt Meizu that much....it will only rally the chinese fans behind their local brand. Maybe we will even see a boycott of apple products

Intellectual property? WTF, all cars have 4 wheels, If I will start to produce a new car, I can get sued for steeling intelectual property?
Apple got the Iphone made right, it is comfortable and great design, same as m8, galaxy and other touch phones, I see no problems for others to use this type of design. Same goes to pants- most of them are for tho legs :D
Meizu's lawyers must look more into what is copyrighted by Apple, I think it cannot be the idea of 1 button and a big screen, or am I wrong?

1. The "newui" interface on the m8 which is ported to the android on m9 is not very much like iphone except for horizontal scrolling.

2. There are iphone-clones out there way closer to the real thing, pretending to be the real thing. If you pissed over stolen design, go after them.

3. This is not about legit grievances, it is about apple wanting a showdown to warn others from treading on their turf. Meizu is the target because it is small enough not to be a real threat in the defense, but high-profile and known enough to make a good example.


That being said, i am a techie and a nerd so of course istill respect apples hardware and their design (though not so much iphone 4 obviously) and i am sure some of the best hardware and software engineers are working for them.

However i think it is pathetic that a company so big and wealthy would go screwing with smaller companies just to get over their own inadequacies. Yeah, we know china was a tough nut to crack for a while there, but you are in now so please shut up and leave the local talents alone, bullying people/companies will not get you more respect; it will get you less.

Maybe it would be useful to write a text, which convinces many people to demonstrate against apple.
Everyone could copy and paste this text into other and bigger forums, so that everyone, not only Meizu users are against apple. The Meizu community alone is too few to do something great.

Maybe I exxagerate, but it wouldn't be difficult to make something like that.
We have to strike back, and that is something we, the Meizu fans and hopefully many others can do.

If the others like the idea too, we need someone who is a talented writer, best if he is an native english speaker.
After the text is written, we can translate it into other languages, that won't be a problem.
And in not much time we can make the world pay attention to this.

It's really sad that Meizu is attacked while he developed that should be the pride of the Chinese !

What can fans do ?

fans can point fingers wherever it is possible
fans can boycot products of the ursurper and voice their opinion.
fans can explain to other fanboys/gals why Meizu is not KIRF.
fans should know what realy makes their product unique compared to other products '^^

And never insult other fanboys/girls that will only get you banned or trolled.

i hope m8 production never get shut down ,
and wish that m9 launch with a boom !!
