You can, I just had one a while back. Sold it though. UI wasn't really nice, and the phone had too choppy performance and was too locked down for me.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

Thanked 19 Times in 19 PostsAwww....now that's explains everything why Jack feel so down.
Meizu did took a high risk continue in footprints of Apple with M8 and now it seems Steve has finally decide to come and clean up the crime. That's also fair enough and so big mistake of Meizu. Who knows, maybe Samsung is lurking just behind them to claim over M9.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsYou do know that Apple stole the idea of GUIs from Xerox, right? The Lisa and Macintosh were based around stolen ideas, the only difference being that Xerox had no interest in using the stuff they developed, and so Apple were first to the market.
However I do think it's a bit ridiculous to say the M8 is a better phone than the iPhone. I'm quite surprised that they are still able to sell it, I mean there are Android phones for 130 € that are in each and every way (except for sound quality perhaps) superior, besides having a OS that is supported by many developers. Let alone the iPhone 4, which only fails at making phone calls and staying undamaged. But then you could say the Nokia 1100 is a better phone than the iPhone.
But Meizu, please, try to do something different. Hire some good designers to create a new design, I mean they were just asking for trouble.
Apple won't sue Samsung since Samsung is an important business partner to them. Memory chips, CPU, perhaps also the screens are made by Samsung. Samsung could easily screw Apple by not selling them any parts anymore.Last edited by kadajawi; 10-10-2010 at 08:28 PM.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThey were allowed, so that's not really stealing.
Neither is what Microsoft did. They had better lawyers than Apple, meaning apple didn't realized they gave Microsoft the right implement all the good ideas in both the already existing features of Mac OS, but also future editions.
That be said; those who believe Windows 7 is a ripoff of OS X should get a pair of glasses.
Fun fact; the taskbar of Windows 1 looks quite much like the one in Windows 7.

So stop hating, and enjoy the fact that all the major companies in the industry are taking ideas from each other. This fuels innovation.

Here's the thing, Without Apple and all the other companies making smartphones. Meizu wouldn't even exist. Ever thought about that? You can tell Apple to go to hell, everything is just politics. But if you are a M8 lover, If Apple NEVER made the iPhone. I doubt you have your 'M8'. It would probably be a copy of another make & model.
Here is a example:
Forza Motorsports for Xbox. Forza fanboys talk so much crap about Gran Tursimo. Yet they are forgetting. Without Gran Tursimo, Forza wouldn't have existed. Gran Tursimo paved the way for a Real Driving Simulator game.
Never forget the roots. Especially if you want better copies.Last edited by Unregistered; 10-11-2010 at 11:58 PM.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsAnd without Apple fanboyz trolling every website, pretending to be Steve Job's butt buddy - this world will be a MUCH better place.
-Apple did not invent the smartphone.
-Apple did not invent the touchscreen phone.
-Apple did not invent apps to be installed on phones.
-Apple was not the first to have an OS on a phone.
-Apple is not king....
Apple did however manage to brainwash a large portion of this world by coming out with a "smart"phone that - a) does not copy&paste b) does not multitask c) does not have external storage d) requires you to buy a sleeve in order for you to make phone calls correctly e) encourages users to hold phones a certain way or else they suck.
Kudos to Apple!!!!!

I can only assume you are slightly pointing your finger at me as a Apple "Fanboyz".
You missed my point. Did I ever say Apple was King? Did I say Apple invented apps? Did I say Apple invented the Smartphone?
You NEED companies like this to make products for "other" companies to reverse engineer or even dare I say make a better product.
So again, you missed the point of my post, I'm not a Apple Fanboy. Yada yada yada.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI read quickly all the threads.
I am little bit surprise by some reactions.
If a American thief steal a Chinese individual. Everybody will say, he is a thief.
His nationality does not matter. He is a bad guy !
So if a Chinese authority decided to stop the manufacturing of M8, it means they receive clear proofs from Apple against Meizu. Trust me a Chinese authority never acts without a lot of evidences.
So because Meizu is Chinese, even if he stole something, he should not be punish ? A thief is a thief, time to wake up !
I love Meizu, their engineers are very smart, but it is time for them to prove it and to find something new like engineers from Apple do.
THEY CAN DO IT !

The point is Apple has double standards. They chat 'sh*t' about protecting intellectual property but only when it suits them. They won't try and prosecute Samsung or LG or any of the big names who have clearly make phones as close to the Iphone as the M8 is because they rely on them for components etc.
I hate apples politics and their bulls*t culture people buy into. Google are just as bad but at least android is open source.
