Meizu files patent for integrated Bluetooth and Wi-Fi technology

Our favorite Zhuhai company filed a patent application in April for an integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth transmitter hardware that allows multiple file transfers at speeds up to 1 Mbps, which is said to be ten times faster than the current industry standard. Meizu's patent application was made public in August, which if granted, makes Meizu a leading mobile phone company in this field.
Does that mean that our M9s will have super-fast wireless transfers and syncing? Only time will tell...

Thanked 7 Times in 3 PostsInteresting, its nice to see things are happening over there. And its also nice to see they are concentrating their efforts on points of usability rather than just the standard race to get the fastest CPU, highest screen rez and whatnot.
Things like this extinguishes the brand. Lets hope it gets a good practical application :P

yeah right, if Meizu is steadily increasing, they are one of the big player on the phone market. See also the other chinese producers that grow steadly, like HTC (Taiwan), Huawei or SmartQ.
But Meizu needs a good strategy to capture a piece of the big phone market pie.
Publicity had the Meizu very well (thanks J.W.)

Thanked 83 Times in 30 Poststhis has been already implemented in M8 new UI FW.
you can test it if you got 2 M8s. when sending large files(someone at meizu bbs said large than 1M Bytes),
M8 can detect the receiver(thru bluetooth), if it is another M8, the sender phone will notify user to use wifi instead.
PS:i only got 1 M8 and i don't know if 2 M8s use wifi directly
or thru a router.
