    Trade-In M9 -> MX (China)

    Hi folks anyone any idea if theres a trade in for M9 to MX in China? Even an option for the international version since the CHinese version will be rather flawed in my humble opinion.
    Meizu staff in SanLiTun and Weigongcun shops didn't even know about the MX (well they re sort of having new staff every week since fluct...)
    well if theres no trade in i might just wait for either new samsung or the google one.

    Nope, no trade-in for now. Only for the M8. By that logic, the M9 will be trade-eligible for the MX's successor.

    The M9 just got another 400 RMB price cut (now down to 1699 RMB) to coincide with MX Day tomorrow. The skeptical view...inventory clearance. The optimistic view...more M9s in peoples' hands and ongoing support into 2012.

    M9 will most likely not see a trade-in. Meizu is aiming to be selling both phones at the same time, not clearning inventory.

    A company can't survive by only selling one phone at any time.

    Well, Meizu certainly has been making a go of it.

    To that end, there was a certain amount of dismay expressed on the China BBS; after all, everyone planning on selling their M9 to finance a new MX just saw the value of their phone drop even more.

    too bad for this (no M9 to MX swap). my wife was suggesting a Xiaomi since it's much cheaper than an MX.

    You can try checking out the Xiaomi at China Unicom, but their version apparently adds some Unicom bloatware. MIUI is fun and all, but the Xiaomi itself is dull as rocks and -personally speaking- 16:9 is ghastly on a phone. Laptops & monitors, too, but then I'm hopelessly outdated...

    Thats has been the problem since the "official" release in October, you can buy it but they are sold out.

    Say what you want, but this time Meizu actually held their release date and i think everyone who pre-ordered Meizu MX already got their units.

    I know ppl who are still waiting for M1 since October last year.

    China Unicom got a deal with them. Getting sold out like crazy.
    I agree with you. In my eyes, M1 isnt that exciting any more...
