Meizu MX goes on sale on 01/01/2012, eager customers form massive lines

The day finally comes when the Meizu MX goes on sale across China and of course in the recently opened Hong Kong store where the staff is already put to the test of serving at least 900 die-hard Meizu fans on the first day. Huge lines of customers are seen near Meizu shops all around the country waiting to purchase this highly anticipated device and walk home with it.
The retail units of the MX have some hardware changes from the engineering samples that were sent out to the media for reviews. The changes include easier to use hardware buttons, anti-fingerprint coating on the camera lens and overall build quality improvements.
In addition to the launch the Meizu M9's price was adjusted to just 1699 CNY (~270 USD) with the promise of both devices getting an upgrade to the company's Flyme OS based on Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 in the future.

Hmm, looks the same to me, but it's hard to tell. It doesn't stand out much on the engineering samples either, about 1 mm.

Dk then, cause on the photos I've seen for the engineering samples, they seem to be standing out more

Waiting for my unit... As I don't have any phone at the moment :D

visited the Meizu shop in Pudong yesterday, the line was already gone, only a handful of fans still getting their MX-s in the evening. only the people who get notified can get their hands on the phone, there is of course no stock at the moment. really looking forward to getting an MX already seems so close.
any info on how many people pre-ordered? and how many a day can they serve?

Wow ,there is already a couple on ebay.. how much in USD were they for sale from the Meizu shops please ??

Our local Meizu Store had one to play with last week; I plonked RMB200 down for a deposit and am now eagerly awaiting their phone call....

I thought you would definitely get one on the 1st of January when you preorder... I wonder why there is no one on meizume so far who owns a MX. Is it really out?
How many in the queue got an MX? What was the stock quantity in every shop? Maybe Carl can answer that.

Everyone who got called and queued got units, not everyone who pre-ordered got units. There was no stock at all in some stores in a few smaller Chinese cities.

Plenty of MXs went out the door on 1/01 and 1/02, but only in HK, Zhuhai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou...and even in those cities, only some shops got stock. In Beijing for example, it was Xidan and Sanlitun...but there are 12 stores in Beijing listed on MZ's website.

It's going to end up just like last year with the M9, only this year there's less time before Lunar New Year (1/23) so Meizu is going to be working well into February to get completely caught up across the Mainland.

Don't know yet, a friend preordered one for me, haven't heard anything from her yet...

same here, preordered mine in the first week of december, but still no phonecall from the shop that i could pick it up...

correction: they just called me, i can go pick up my MX today
