Meizu MX to be released on Chinese National Day on October 1

Today, Meizu has announced the official release date for the Meizu MX along with official and final specifications.

As we previously reported, the Meizu MX will come in two versions, a 16GB version with an A9 dual-core processor, and also a high-end 32GB version with a quad-core processor. Meizu MX also comes with a 4-inch, 960 x 640 display which reaches a density of 292 PPI. According to Meizu, the screen on the MX will have an aspect ratio of 3:2, and they're claiming that the width is comparable to phones with 4.3-inch screens that are out today. Dimensions are said to be 63 x 121 x 10 mm, and we will allegedly see two Chinese characters, 梦想, on the back. The characters are read as meng xiang, which means dream in Chinese. Abbreviated, they also form the name of this upcoming Meizu smartphone.

The Meizu MX is said to be released on the Chinese National Day, which falls on October 1st. Pricing remains unchanged from when we last reported, 2999 RMB for the 16GB version and 3999 RMB for the 32GB version, which roughly translates to $470 and 620 USD, respectively.

Would be great if it was released so early. Specifications still sound great, looking forward having this as my next phone. Just hope the 16 Gb version will have a memory card slot too... Few days ago JW said the ROM will be allocated from the 16 Gb memory and the owners could decide how much they want to allow for the ROM.

Other new is Foxconn will manufacture MX for Meizu. not confirm news, just friends of Meizu forum member working in Foxconn leakage the news.

Jwong said they initially wanted MX screen in 1200x800 resolution 360PPI. but cost, too high, need extra about 600rmb market price. cost need to pay sharp more than 5 milion usd to custome make/RnD for 1200x800 screen. unless MX can sell 10 milion unit. cost is less than 1 usd.

By the way: why is the MX speaker in the articles picture SO small?

While I agree that Meizu needs a unique design (especially with todays court-system^^), that doesnt look like 8mm on the picture, more like 5 ^^ And somehow it looks weird

the outer dimensions seem a little big :/ i am quite happy with the current size of the M9, wouldn't really want a bigger phone, but i'll wait and see how the real deal looks like. will there be some M9 exchange program eventually?

Too fast... Way to fast. They are now doing like the bling-bling brand Apple: One mobile a year! I would have prefer to have the MX than the M9 but I can't afford to buy every year a new mobile. If with the ISuck, there is no such big changes, the MX got a lot compare to previous models. Meizu have to think about it. I used the trade-in program to get my M9 because we couldn't be sure that there will be a MX and when... Now I am stuck, damn! Trade-in Program M9 to MX! Jia You!!!!!

I don't think that meizu is going to make it until 1st October. I wouldn't bet that it comes out this year, but rather beginning 2012. I'm very looking forward to it. I'm glad I have my M9 covering the time till the MX comes out. I think even I don't need it really, I'm going to buy it. Just because I love Meizu. But man, the price is pretty high when it comes to a chinese phone. Nothing mentioned about a SD slot?

Well, Apple's refresh cycles are already slow compared to... almost all other Android manufacturers. I think if Meizu could have even faster release cycles, they would.
