Jack Wong just revealed the upcoming Meizu MX to cost around 2999 and 3999 CNY for the 16 and 32 Gb versions. You might be wondering why the price gap is so high just because of the added storage space... Well that's not exactly the only difference between the two models. As we previously reported the 16 Gb version will feature a dual-core CPU while the 32 Gb model will boast an even more powerful quad-core (!) processor. Jack also mentioned the development of the Meizu MX is going pretty well and that the phone currently doesn't resemble to any of the previously posted patent application images. Release date is still expected at the end of December.

Thanked 7 Times in 6 PostsI´m little bit lost in all those informations. Wasn´t mentioned before that release date will be around end of september? And does somebody know what is benefit of using quad-core in smartphone (for laik)? Do you think that Meizu can handle so strong HW, can Meizu even make so stable and fully usable FW fot this HW? I mean if Meizu will be competitive compared to HTC or Nexus, Samsung and others?
I have HTC Sensation, at 1,5Ghz frequency, but it is so strong that I can not see any result and I do not know in what it can realize its potential. Will there be some visible difference in anything? Dual vs quad core... I have many questions and I do not fall in a mud...

Quad-core sounds nice, but I really wonder about the battery life, and really how much faster apps would be compared to dual-core.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

Thanked 1,049 Times in 391 PostsIt should be officially unveiled in September, but released in December. Don't exactly know what that means but I guess we should see some pictures of it and final specs too.
I'm not sure why quad-core is important but at least we'll have a more future-proof device which should satisfy our needs for a longer time
Bit scared about battery life too, hope they can come up with a larger capacity one.

Thanked 7 Times in 6 PostsYup, I bought in my Sensation 2430mAh , original 1520mAh, some business battery from japan. It was the most powerfull battery on ebay and I have to say it last longer than original...about 8 hours on original and about 20 hours with this one... 2-4% is phone in a state of inactivity, so guess about how I use it

And what about trade-in program with M8? I still have my.

No offence to Meizu but those prices are just too high when you consider the competition and they type of devices the big manufacturers will be dropping around the same time for similar prices.
Plus software is far more important to me than multi cores and pixel density and frankly this is just looking too good and too cheap to ignore...

Meizu could definitely learn a thing or 2 from Xiaomi

"Shocking" would be the word if Meizu were to drop Samsung at this point...they've used nothing but since the Miniplayer.
TI would be the somewhat logical alternative considering the switch to the AIC36 audio codec in the M9.
Qualcomm Snapdragon is an all-in-one solution, so Meizu (and fans) would be looking at another new "sound signature" if they were to go that route.

Thanked 14 Times in 10 PostsIt just doesn't work out for Meizu at the moment. Xiaomi is offering a 1.5Ghz dual core processor, for 66% of the price of the MX dual core version 1.4Ghz. Coupled with MIUI, it is a highly possible option for many. Meizu's better hardware, like screen and the front camera are not enough in my opinion to swing the balance at the moment.

Thanked 91 Times in 32 PostsXiaomi just used ARM 8 cpu, compare to MX is used latest ARM 9 cpu, it a generation advance than xiaomi, estimated xiaomi cpu just 60~70% MX cpu performance.
MX is built-in 16GB which more faster, also MX have better touch screen, more slim than xiaomi, CMOS-R camera, HSPA+, MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) support, Docking station, free headset , etc.. not said other like better resolution screen, more bigger, 2:3 ratio give better user experience and etc ...
and if you like xiaomi can buy it too.Last edited by waja2000; 09-14-2011 at 03:26 PM.

Thanked 19 Times in 13 PostsWow, its quite funny to see that fanboys have reached meizu as well.
QC does not qualify as either A8 or A9.
MX has built in 16GB, thats true. But the speed difference is barely noticeable. Better touch screen? Have you tried the xiaomi phone? Higher res, yes. But we dont know much about the touch part.
MHL is useless at the moment since you need an adapter for it to work. What is "more bigger"?
I liked Meizu because it lacked fanboys, you should be ashamed sir.

Thanked 24 Times in 15 PostsI doubt the MX touchscreen sensitivity is in any way inferior to the Xiaomi M1s!
To be honest, most modern smartphones do not differ that much in the touchscreen sensitivity...
Anyway, wait till the MX is released, you wont get a (new) Xioami M1 untill then anyway (preorder queue).
