Works Method 2 only with the Czech-version en-cz FW 2.0.5-11282 or it also works with the cn-en FW 2.0.5-11241?

Both methods will only work with the Czech FW. They've made the CN FW so that it is impossible to remount the file-system with temproot.

What does happen, if I try to flash the phone and its not the chezh version? Can it brick the phone??

No, you'll just get a bunch of error messages from the command windows, and the phone will not be rooted.

One more question:
I am a little bit confused. I've read, that there are three m9 versions. One for the CN market one for the russian and also one for the czech market. People say, that the CN version can't be rootet the other two can be rooted. My quesion now is: is it just a firmware issue? Meaning that if I buy my phone in peking, flash it with the czech firmware (shown in this thread) and just change the language? Or do these 3 versions actually have different hardware installed, making it hard for the CN version to be rootet?

There are only two different versions of the M9. The difference being the way they update their firmware, most of us have the version originally released for use in China that uses firmware that comes in .bin format. There is also a type that has firmware that is distributed in .zip format, like most other android phones in the world. So, yes, if you buy a phone from China, you can flash the .bin firmware from the Czech Republic.

The regional firmware releases such as English/Czech, or English/Russian are created for countries that have an official Meizu vendor. The .zip flashable phones are a relatively recent addition as Meizu moved toward selling their phones in the wider international market, and they now are the only phones sold by their international agents.

The international .bin type updates have been left rootable, where the Chinese .bin updates are only temprootable, and the reason why we cant use the Russian firmware is that they have an added level of security which means that you would need a key that is only provided by the Russian vendor. Luckily for us, the Czech version does not have this protection, meaning that it can be used on any M9 that uses the .bin format firmware.

All very messy until you consider that the main point of these language and usage restrictions is to prevent Chinese users from being able to root their phones and still have the UI in their native language.

The .zip and the .bin phones have identical hardware, the difference is in the preprogrammed boot-loader, which no-one but Meizu knows how to change.

Nearly everyone outside of China with a M9 has a Chinese, .bin type phone, including me.

I hope this makes sense.....nobody but MZ knows why this state of affairs exists.

So everyone with a CN M9 using english as GUI language should update to the Czech version of the firmware to get full root?

AFAIK, this is the only way. There remains the possibility that if/ when they release a vanilla version of ICS that it may be rootable, who knows... but there's nothing to stop you trying this out, and then ICS later.

This fw runs as well as the latest CN version btw, I've been using it for a couple of days with no issues.

yes. CZ fw has CN recovery with english translation.

i've downloaded the CZ fw. the MD5 sum is cbbf0daf59815a20783647eac6085dd6, is it right?

I don't know about overclocking, as I haven't tried yet, sorry.

I updated from 112414 without clearing data, and all seems to be running perfectly for me, but I didn't have lags before.

EDIT: just checked the MD5, and yes, that sum is correct!
