Meizu M9 demo units being sent out to stores
Earlier today, Meizu CEO Jack Wong made an remark on the company BBS saying that Meizu will be sending out demo units to stores around the country during "these few days." He also mentioned that the Meizu M9 will be for sale the on New Year's Day at the very latest.
Another piece of news concerns the Meizu M9 CPU, which comes under-clocked at 800 MHz. It has now been reported that the full speed has been unlocked via a firmware update.
UPDATE: JW mentioned next firmware update will be based on the kernel of Android 2.3 and we can expect better performance since it's more optimized for the CPU of M9.

Hope the Android 2.3 frimware update wouldn't be like the myth about fw1.0 :P

sounds like good news...
But I would be surprised if the new FW arrives soon... No offense to Meizu, but FW 1.0 for M8 is what we call in France "L'arlésienne" (that is expected and that never comes.)

I think we can't compare M8's firmware based on WinCe and M9's firmware based on Android.
Im sure updates will come a lot faster than Motorola, HTC and other androphones brands.

Thanked 27 Times in 8 PostsI think he refers to that the Meizu company has one phone to update the Android system on, Motorola, HTC, Samsung etc. has several phones to update...
(Exept for HTC Desire that has a really fast working special group for updates)
And WinCE can't be compared to Android OS...http://www.innuce.nu

Thanked 40 Times in 25 Postsslight correction: he mentioned that the next update will be based on the kernel of android 2.3, which is by the way still a huge leap forward, not that all of the features available in android 2.3 will be in the next update.
i think they will roll out updates continuously, adding new features all the time.略懂

Today is 23rd and m9 is near its release but there is no real or correct spec list from meizu.

Thanked 9 Times in 5 PostsI dropped by at a Meizu shop in Xujiahui, Shanghai as I had to replace my screen protector. The guy there had no idea when the M9 will come out. On the plus side, a young couple came in and made a deposit for the M9.

hi,
i went to the meizu shop of Xujiahui yesterday and they say it about 1st january but still not sure... btw they r not so friendly in that shop i prefer the one of Sitchuan lu (Shanghai)
the shop was empty exept the 4 sellers no client just a small advertising on the door.
then start of January it's demo unit only? when i can buy this phone? my M8 is old now*!
what about the discount for the M8 owner? i need to give back my phone or just show it/ or the invoice?
Thank you for all the information i find here, i can't read well the Chinese characters
