Meizu M9 firmware update gets ported to M8

These days must be hard for Meizu preparing the release of their upcoming M9 and making sure everything goes well. A few days ago though someone who had access to Meizu M9 firmware updates made the latest one available for anyone to download and posted the link to Meizu's BBS. It didn't take long for LBE group to port this update to their previously released Android builds for M8 and they say it will be released soon.
Check out the video but only if you don't want to ruin all the surprises about the UI!

Jack Wong will handle this situation like:

    A) Steve Jobs

    B) a Zen Buddhist Master

    C) Don Corleone

B, ofcourse! J.Wong seems like a nice guy... Steve Jobs would personally murder this dude who ported the firmware... Steve Jobs is like the "Sverigedemokraterna" (A political party in Sweden), they really try to seem nice, but everybody knows that they are dangerous... ^^

No, this is based on the firmware we got linked on our forum in the past, see here.

The rom is an update version of the original m9 ROM but it does contain all the APK files. Those APK files can be ripped to get all the new images and icons that will be available on m9.
So this 'port' is not more then an LBE rom with the new icons included.

So it's still WinCE, but with M9's icons amd images?

Sweet! I hope it's released soon. Honestly, the only thing holding me back from installing Android on the M8 is that I never liked the default Android UI.

I think "Sverigedemokraterna" would be good for Sweden if it wasn´t for all the dangerous people in the political party.

It is VERY cool to have these APK's and firmware files!
Sadly it does not take LBE any closer to integrate Bluetooth and the Camera =(

I got Alarm Clock and Calendar working on my HTC Desire.
And I got also got the videoplayer working really buggy on the M8.
As for the rest, hopeless. It's either a system apk, which can't be removed when running android or it just won't start.

they´re really in time with their firmwares! i think the whole thing is based on froyo...and today gingerbread will be released...meizu is sooo funny...the firmware will be outdated again on its release...but maybe they´ll be able to port it to 2.3 faster then in the past...

by the way: are you sure that the device is a M8? Have a closer look at 3:34min...there is some backlit reflected by his hands...and in my opinion you can see some "buttons" on the right side (bottom side of the device). they look like the ones the M9 will have!?!

if gingerbread comes out, ALL the other android phones will be outdated, and it will take months for manufacturers to update... except maybe for nexus one, and nexus s.

Well, at least it's 2.2. Some devices are still at 1.6. But yeah, that's the problem with customization. JW said that users can't do a better job than Meizu, but my HTC Magic was one of the first phones running 2.2, while the stock Magic was still at 1.6. I think/hope that I will again have one of the first 2.3/Gingerbread devices.
