Meizu boss Jack Wong replies to questions, teases us further with new M9 creenshots

Meizu CEO Jack Wong has replied to a few netizens questions regarding Meizu and the M9. Below, we've translated a selection of the most interesting questions.

After the M9 is released and Meizu's website gets redesigned, isn't it time to run some ads on CCTV (China's national TV channels)?
Jack: Little child, we barely have money to produce the Meizu M9. How about we increase the price of Meizu M9 by several hundred RMB so you can support our TV ads?

I don't play a lot of mobile games, and I'll use the M9 mainly for looking up information. I think third party browsers are better than Android's stock browser.
Jack: We won't block the use of third party web browsers, but this is hard to say. People have different preferences.

Was the M8 really stopped by Apple? I dare you to issue an official statement from Meizu!
Jack: On behalf of Meizu: The government of Zhuhai has helped us take this issue to the Provincial IP Office in Guangzhou to discuss with issue with Apple. Apple flew in a Vice President directly from the USA.
Apple going back and forth made me angry, but I was even more mad at the media saying that I'm doing this as a PR trick!
The thing that has disturbed me the most is that I now see that media is just "floating clouds". Gossip is something to fear, as saliva can drown people. Peace, freedom, acceptance, righteousness, dreams are all just "floating clouds".

haha, JW is really cool, I like his attitude :P

All the screens look nice, but I really want to see the phone physically (hardware) and not the OS, thx anyways for the translation and the screenshots :D

the m9 is just a better spec m8 running android nothing really new in terms of look and design. im waiting for a review of the phone to see if meizu have done a good job and to find out what the actual specs are of the device because at the moment its all hearsay and spec has been changed and re changed many times. meizu are very vague on some details and with press/promotions. they don't like to commit to anything as they sometimes don't deliver what they promise.

i think they should hurry up get the phone released before 2011 not long left now until 2010 is over.

hopefully it will live up to all the hype created about it on the site by the fans and meizu.

did you ever realize that a PC is just a pocket calculator with better specs and a different OS.
Why would youneed a PC? :P
Realy, the 3G capability and Android does make this a very different phone then the M8.

Jack seems to be quite disilusioned by the events of the last month...

you need a pc to be a central hub of all your devices. we also need larger screens and bigger control surfaces.

as i said the specs are different but the design as in how it looks is the same, you have not understood my original comment and misinterpreted what i have put.

the design of the phone and the UI is the same as the M8 with different spec parts inside. they have kept the design and UI the same so the transition of people upgrading from the m8 will be easy and they will feel straight at home with how to use the device and also to keep the company's identity.

That J. Wong is awesome xD I like his answer to the question about ads. I actually get a feeling of that he is a nice man that doesn't care that much about money (ofcourse he wants money, but he aint as stingy and mean as Steve Jobs...)

strongly agree, having someone that has the companies (AND fans/users) future as 1st priority will be successful in the long run, the one that is greedy will fall after all. Mark my words Steve Jobs, MEIZU WILL BREAK YOU!!

j wong is just copying apple ways of doing things, from the way we use his name when we relate to the meizu company and he is the spokes person of his company like jobs is.

its clever way of getting fans who are more loyal than customers.

meizu want the same success in asia as apple have had in the rest of the world and are using the very successful apple way of doing things.

i do like the meizu products but im too clever to get sucked into all this fan stuff and becoming a fan boy lol

Ok. I might be a fan of Meizu. That's because they use up-to-date components from high-end manufacturers from for ex. Samsung, and still manage to sell their stuff for half the price as other brands. Does that make me unclever? Because I don't like companies that bases half their prices on just the mark...?

apple can charge those prices as they are in demand , meizu cannot charge those prices yet as they are not in huge demand.

if j wong's m8 and m9 was in huge demand like the apple iphone is he would be charging high prices too and maybe we wouldn't be on this website having this conversation and putting down be hating on a successful business rooting for the underdog with the cheaper product. cheaper as in costs less not inferior.

if meizu do become a huge company, believe me the prices will rise and rise and a similar young company like meizu will start up to cash in that success like meizu did with apple. the cycle all starts again. people become fans of smaller company and want it to be successful and that company grows and grows with fans hating on meizu.

think about the future

well, in this case it makes me happy that 'Umbrella Corporation' is unlikely to happen.

Should Meizu become like Apple we can all be happy bekause 'we knew before all other that they will make history'.
But i think they will just find there market segment (probably have with the high quality audio smartphone).

Also J. Wong has in no way the Charisma to become a S. Jobs. He may be a 'nice guy' but he is no glamour person.
