Meizu M9 comes with Android 2.2, custom UI, 960x640 screen

According to forum posts by Meizu CEO Jack Wong, the new M9 will come with a custom interface running on top of Android 2.2. He also talked about M8FE and M8RE to M9 replacement program but it is currently unclear how it would work and if international users could apply for the price discount. JW announced all Android software should work on the M9, except a few games which require a trackball. The M9 will have a different WLAN module than the M8 and it's now also confirmed the screen resolution will be 960x640.
Release date is still planned for October.

regarding to 3G, yes but WCDMA only(it will support HSDPA i guess). correct me if i am wrong.

So it's a lot of stuff we already knew... except for the M8SE replacement program. I thought it was only going to be the test versions of the M8.

The UI looks the goods for sure, though. Who would have thought a car windscreen would be such a good wallpaper!

im sorry i dont understand, what is meant by this replacement program? do we get the software that the M9 runs? android? i dont get it

Yeah but what is pretty big discount??? I bought my M8 over some dealer and I paid 367 eur for it (FE - glass 8GB black) and I think it is a lot of money. if the discount will be more than 40%, I WILL BUY IT!

wow 367 euros is much I've payd 310$ with shipping.

About shipping, so again - meizu m8 was not meant to be supported internationally and so for sending. By the way, I'am living in Lithuania ( nera westert Russias borders) and shipping via EMS costed 15$, so it is not so much. For exact discount, no one is sure yet, just WAIT

i remembered some days ago JW mentioned the replacement prices, for FE with the warrent card, it will work like this,

1. order the M9 online with full price, at the same time your replacement request will be push into a queue.

2. when your request popped from the queue, meizu will let you know and ask for your M8FE(RE)

3. once meizu got your phone, it will refund around rmb1000(roughly 147usd, note RE got a lower discount) back to you.

4. meizu will destroy the m8 returned and sell the parts to recycle companies.

JW also said he couldnot do the replacement simply like sending m8+extra to meizu and sending m9 to customer because there are a couple of 100-thousands FEs sold already. worrying about meizu's cash flow, he is thinking to make a request queue and control the amount of replacement each month.
