I don't think we're gonna get a discount for giving back our M8 if we do that directly. We should do that through our dealer but...will he do that?
guys, we'd better start to organize a future M9 trip to China!

Good questions!
M9 - Android 2.2...its op. system will NOT work on the M8
Android on M8 - I really don't think that Meizu will release an official version of Android for the M8 but, thanks to some great private teams (LBE and SEPA) we're reaching the goal of having Android working on M8.
1.0 - GOT LOST!...but, hey, let's be realistic, do you really need a 1.0 FW? what will the difference be? the FW that we have now are great and just really small improvements can be done, so...be happy with your 0.9.9.17 or so and, if you want, try out the new A9 Android release, which is a really great improvement!

so with this info, I really get the feeling that the M8 was really a test-unit and we all were testers who payed for it.

Now JW offering us to return the test-unit and we get a discount for the M9. That was a very clever move of meizu, to let people pay for testing their first mobileMX-HK, M9, M8, M6SL

Thanked 2 Times in 2 PostsHi,
It seems to me from the last time they had an exchange program from M8 to M8 SE. They only dealt with People in China.

Thanked 17 Times in 12 Postswhen the m8 was first announced it was aimed at the international market but as soon as legal issues come about with copyright meizu dropped going to international conventions and stopped international promotion. meizu still acknowledge international users or they would not have a english version of their website or have english language option on their products.
hope that the m9 is released in october as promised

Thanked 34 Times in 18 PostsJ.W. talked about different version of the m9. I've read something about a m9 @ and so on. Can somone please clear me up? What versions will be released when? First he said, a new version will come a few month later (m9h I think) and another 2011 (M9x). Will there be ( or is planned) a new version at the end of the year or in Janunary?
I've read his posts by google translating and it was very confusing.
Thanks,

Thanked 1,049 Times in 391 PostsFirst there will be the M9 which is planned to be released this October with 960x480 screen (3,6" if I remember correctly) and the rest is not sure. Last time JW said he wants to upgrade the screen to 4" and that would mean increasing the width of the phone to 65 mm. Chinese fans said that would be too big for a cellphone, and then he asked if 3.9" screen ok with 64 mm width... This would be the M9X or M9@ (no final name I think) which would be released sometime next year.
As far as I'm concerned these are the latest news.

Thanked 1,049 Times in 391 PostsJW said no more plans to release mBook because he lost interest in it. There are too many cheap imported tablets in China already and they couldn't sell it...

an german online news portal for mobilephones also reports about the m9...he mentions that the phone is a combination of htc and apple...has android 2.2 and same quality display as iphone...
..also the post says that j wong told to release the m9 for some companys next month and that the phone will be avalable for normal users in october..also they think that the phone does not come in october and the release will be delayed for 2 till 4 months...
...thex mentioned that the android 2.2 comes in a complete rebuild user iterface and has less to do with the common android we know so far...
EDIT: just read about the same information on another german website!
sorry for my bad English...if you find any errors -> keep em!Last edited by Stopthewar; 08-18-2010 at 11:47 AM.

Thanked 7 Times in 3 PostsTrue, Lewis could you give some sort of source?
I was glad to see that in the engadget thread there was surprisingly little hate! and this is engadget users we're talking about, they(we) hate on EVERYTHING... Meizu certainly made a name for itself, and it seems the whole "iphone" copy thing is lived down a bit now that most smartphones have a pretty uniform look.
