Meizu M9 confirmed to run Android 2.1

Hello Meizu fans!

Today Meizu CEO Jack Wong comfirmed that their next phone, Meizu M9, will use Android 2.1 and also revealed that the M9 will include 3 different types of keyboards. The Android distribution will be customized by Meizu, much like what has been done with Mymobile (Windows CE 6.0 and Meizu M8) but is said to be able to run apps from both Android Market and Mstore.

Jack also said that a new firmware for M8 is coming soon, with two touch buttons for going back to menu (?).

But the most important news is that they will release a firmware with Android 2.1 for the M8, said to be a test for the future M9!

Did they talk about possibility to use windows mobile application with the new Firmware on M8 ?

What does it mean : "two touch buttons for going back to menu" ??

I think Android likes more buttons then the M8 has...
one to go one step back and one to return straight to the desktop at least.
Looks like they dont want to give up the power button and the Volume buttons

i dont believe in things meizu tells until i have android installed and runnig correcty on my m8

I do not believe. They were just too late. Android 2.1 phone is being used much. M9 also do not think there would be in a short period of flour. I think it will distract users with only minor updates fw.

Meizu OS + Android 2.1
They will finish WM compability, offer us users an big Android marketplace and then they will update to next Android versions when they are out, just why they have so many experiences gathered with M8 updates :-)
So the chances of having a up-to-date phone with the M8 for the next 2 years have grown so much.
This is really great.
Now let's hope for good power management abilities and that it will be released soon.

Only in this case, we expect revenues. Meizu can not give 1.0 fw. Android 2.1 is rewriting everything again, I think apps will take a long time to update

I think perhaps too negative. Android 3.0 is out, but perhaps Meizu offers us a new fw
