Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHey
Thanks for your advices
I gave Auto Memory Manager a try. Unfortunately, it didn't fix the problem. Btw, using a lower profile than agressive such as Strict make the reboots and freezes/BSOD problems as present as with the default settings. In my case, I have almost 1 reboot-BSOD/hour .. And with the Agressive profile back, the Messaging problem comes within about 2-3 hours
And killing the apps via the manager (long press) does not change anything neither, because most of my RAM is using by secondary and hidden processes which should be "hard" to kill.
The lack of RAM is - imo - the most important problem with this firmware and I didn't succeed fixing it by virtually increasing the RAM.
If anyone have an idea on how to do it, it will be really appreciated

Sadly, the kernel does not have SWAP implemented, but I agree that this is would be very helpful on such a resource limited device. I don't think there's any way that we can do this for ourselves as we have a locked boot-loader.

Do you use the Memory Reclaim button in AMO?

@Teuh,
Have you tried going into the Developer Options in settings, and using "Don't Keep Activities'? This setting keeps the background services running, but drops individual program elements from the RAM when you're not using them. The downside is that it introduces a small amount of lag into the system as each page has to be reloaded when you come back to it, but maybe this is more tolerable than having whole apps killed by the system.
The Fruit sellers got away with this approach for years, until the fans started demanding 'multitasking', but I'm convinced that most of those people had no idea what the term actually meant
I've also found that AMM seems to be more efficient than AMO when it comes to clearing free space.Last edited by Straylight; 06-03-2012 at 11:10 AM.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHi
I've tried "Dont keep Activities" when I got ICS, but it's reallyyyy too laggy for me (especially because I'm using Apex Launcher).
And I have the feeling that AMM is not working, don't know how to explain, just a feeling. When I'm using AMM, it's like I was using nothing (BSOD etc ...). I'm resigned to use the Memory Reclaim button + Fast Reboot many times, and also to have at least 2 manual reboots a day in order to have the ICS working great..
Any news for the official ICS released ? No FlyMe for me, there are too much useless apps for me (and no root)

I've found this statement from Carl on XDA which would seem to lend weight to the hope that MZ will release a final version of Stock ICS:
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/stock-android-4-0-beta-v1037-released-for-the-meizu-mx-and-m9/
I do hope they honour their commitment made back in March....@Carl, con you confirm that this is still your company's position? All we want is a release based upon the updated kernel (for the M9, though it seemed the MX required further optimisation).Last edited by Straylight; 06-18-2012 at 08:45 AM.
