Firmware news on next official firmware!

Today, a staff on the BBS posted details about the next official firmware for M9 which will land on the sixth.

    Here's the link: Google Translate

About the changelog, here's my interpretation from reading the Chinese, NOT the translation

(Keep in mind the changelog is changes from V2.0.3-9345 and NOT V2.0.4-10373

    1. New boot/shutdown animation
    2. Optimized the lockscreen and charging icon
    3. Battery indicator on the top is now more accurate
    4. Today's date is now shown in the calendar widget
    5. Added effects when moving items to/from folders
    6. Not too sure, but something about the ability to scroll text that you are typing (?)
    7. Download Manager can now handle 6 downloads simultaneously
    8. Added new input methods for Traditional Chinese (Handwriting and strokes)
    9. Added new default ringtone, notification and system sounds
    10. New Icons and Wallpapers
    11. Fixed problems with desktop not showing when switching from resource-heavy games or apps
    12. Other bug fixes

Let's hope battery life is lengthened and not shortened in this version!

Thanks for posting! Sounds like M9 will be getting the same UI improvements as the MX, and it's new ringtones and notification sounds.

I'm guessing this is still Gingerbread?

Yes, still Gingerbread. Yesterday the Meizu engineer said they are still improving system stability of the 4.0 version, so they need more time to work on it.

Maybe they've lifted the limit of items in a folder?

Icons in folders will be rearrangable if the MX is anything to go by.

they need to fix from 10373:
    - Music player issue : when you are listening music from the 3.5mm jack and you wake up your screen by pressing the middle button the audio decrease.
    - Dialer lag : the dialer app is very laggy, in refresh !! never felt this with previous firmwares.
    - cpu clock : now at high the cpu is set to 1.2 ghz, it suck off battery like a whore, back to 1.0ghz at high or add a medium/high setting clocked at 1ghz.
    - WE WANT BACK THE BACKUP app !!!
    - bootloader: we want a rastafarian bootloader ... free ... happy and with a joint in his hand!!

They should fix SMS problem when you can't reply to a person because meizu fw cuts off number codes.

TBH, I'm a bit wary of this update. If they upgrade the kernel to 2.3.6 our opportunity for temproot will more than likely disappear (at least for m9.root.apk). I think I'd accept this for ICS, but anything less will not be worth it in my view.
