Meizu M8 App Store Speculation

J.Wong posted: "我们软件中心也快出来,到时候我们也可以帮忙卖。" on May 27th.

It means: "our software center will be released soon, and soon we will be able to help sell applications"

We can assume from this that the app store will be released soon, and Err0r expects it will be released in the official 0.9.1.0 release. Also, it means that some applications may cost money, but due to Meizu being based in China, the secure payment methods may not be compatible with what is used elsewhere.

Source - Thanks Err0r!

This is some good news, but I am wondering why this news has been released by Meizu...

I wrote emails with Ramon (ramon@meizu.com) and on 14.05.2009 he answered my question if they are working on an app store with the following line:
"3. We have no application store so far. It might be a long-term plan but not now."

So why the hell do they say now they have been working on it ? This is strange...

I think Jack writes without informing the rest of staff, so that sometimes, we know before they do!

The only problem is not the methods of payment and i think this can be resolved easily...

i believe our biggest problem will be that all applications launched in the app.store...will be in chinese!

Paypal should work in China, but indeed the number of English apps would be low

They may allow for english apps later on . all it would take it for them to do is to recompile them into english for International customers. its not that hard really. plus it runs on Mobile 6 so there should be a fair few apps already floating around im sure.

if they don't support english apps then maybe they will do what apple has done and allow people to join up and submit apps for the minions out there that get an M8. Never Say Never though.

Even now most of the english applications that are available even in this forum is from users..

and in the app.store if ever will happen again it will be from users and not from meizu.

Meizu they didnt even bother to include in the cd or at least release later on,an english version of active sync.

at least we hope that they will be smart enough and allow to users to contribute with english applications in the app.store.

^ Yeah, it's pretty old. [Aplication] Meizu app store?

I'm not sure the developer is such a good guy... wasted quite a bit of my time.
