Thanked 34 Times in 18 PostsI hope so too... I don't like the battery cover of the Iphone. It looks like someone has licked over it.... just my opinion :D the 2gen looks also a little strange (you know the contrast between white/grey and black
--> seams like a cover is missing)
I like the design of the Meizu more! But they can do something more different than the Iphone. Good work!

Renders of M9
I agree with U Guys,
on the back he looks similar then Iphone, but... on the front he's so nice, each line, and this silver band is truly a "feast for the eye".
You have the answer to the question: from existing companies that are not inspired by Iphone minimalistic design ?
The Apple company has set a new path in creating a user-friendly devices, therefore any attempts to show thheir's "Iphone Killer".
The fact is that the Meizu began to work much earlier than the product than a Apple.
However, this does not change the fact that it is his minimalist Apple innovation attracted young people, permanently saving as a symbol of "most desired gadget".
I would like to what the Meizu did, to be walked to their own paths, as has been, and that the Chinese authorities abandoned the Communist chaos and allowed to live normally and to develop citizens.
Personally I wish Meizu all achieve the intended objectives, and to become a popular and well known not only in China but around the world.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsWhen?
Hello everyone,
I have been to the Zhong Guan Cun Electronic Market today and visited the MEIZU shop. The girls told me that the new M8 with 3G and GPS would not be sold before next year. Furthermore they said that you could change your already purchased M8 for a new one for 1,000 RMB (~102 EUR or 146 USD).
Buuuuut I don't trust those shop girls. They might tell you anything to make you buy now. Anyways, I can't wait much longer as I need a smartphone now.
So, August 2009 or sometime in 2010 - what should I believe?
Have a nice day or evening

Thanked 173 Times in 72 PostsAugust 2009, this phone came 2 years later then planned, don't expect it to come in 2010 xD
Request: can you go to the shop again and ask them about the M8 SE?(When will it be in the stores?) This is some 'better' version(officially WAPI?!?, wapi is wifi compatible, not sure if it is as i say) of the current one, you should wait for that!

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsToo late
@LVL: they didn't have a clue about it and couldn't give me any information at all - only what I've already posted. But what did I expect...?!
So, Meizu was too late. August is gone and the new phone is not released. As I need a smartphone NOW, ergo I just bought an HTC Touch 3G with GPS, 3G and Wi-Fi - yes, you can get it in China.

Thanked 24 Times in 15 PostsLOL noone ever stated that the Meizu M8 SE or the 3G would be sold in August or anywhere near it.. even the shop girls didnt claim that according to you:
The girls told me that the new M8 with 3G and GPS would not be sold before next year.
So how the hell could you expect Meizu to publish the new phone in august? And why the hell do you blame them now for something they did not fail at??? Sorry but thats just ret*rded.
Fine its your choice which phone you buy, still you couldve bought the "normal" M8 ^^

it will be obviously be ARM designed anyone know what kind of cpu it will be (ARM 11, Cortex A8 etc etc)
Tbh i'm not too sure about it. I was expecting Cortex A8/Tegra or Snapdragon. Why the hell did they not use Tegra? It's made to use Win ce 6.0 and performs amazingly as the Zune Hd has shown. We already have more powerful cpu's on the market and with a high possibility we won't see the 3G M8 for over 6 monthes this cpu will probably be outdated by the time it hits the market.

Web browsing speeds, Ui fluidity and app and function load times are the big deal. The Iphone 3gs and other Cortex A8 based devices show large speed advantages in all these areas over ARM11 based cpu's like meizu's current cpu.

Thanked 9 Times in 7 Postsfor me its more important to have decent internet spead than an even more fluid ui etc... even now all is very smooth... its more about coding then raw power
edit: it have to be arm designed cpu because otherwise the apps have to be writen new from scratchLast edited by Skoddi; 10-07-2009 at 06:04 PM.

Thanked 1 Time in 1 PostI believe "C100" is an abbreviation to "S5PC100", which is basically the same CPU as used in the iPhone 3GS. If that's the case, it's actually a pretty good CPU, which should be on par with the Tegra and the Snapdragon.
Btw, despite it's impressive GPU, the Tegra still has an old ARM 11 CPU which is a notch bellow the Cortex A8.. and the PowerVR SGX on the S5PC100 should also put up a good fight.

Cool didn't realise that Tegra was ARM 11 based, I guess that GPU must be doing a lot of the work. That is good news though if it is Cortex A8 based like the 3GS at least the hardware will be capable. Although I heard the Cortex A9 was on the horizon though so the better get a move on. Saying that though prior to the recent batch of next gen cpu's like the A8, snapdragon etc ARM 11, ARM 9 and Xscale architectures were pretty standard accross the board for most cell phones and portable devices for quite a long period, which could mean if the software improves the M8 3G could still be a contender, although it will definitely be a late arrival to the party.
