Nice maps. Off topic but does Wyoming, Montana, North/South Dakota, and most of Nebraska not get any Cingular coverage at all? I'm no where near those states, I'm just a little surprised that there's no coverage there according to those maps.

anyways...back to the thread topic...the phone is looking great...but like others said it's lacking features as of now...i hope they'll iprove it based on the substantial comments left here...more power to meizu.
I would much rather have a choice with my devices then have to be forced to use only what they want you to use. the Iphone is limited to what they want you to use so they can make the prices higher and keep the market to themselves. I like the idea of being able choose, not be told what I can and can't use with my devices.:D

y wouldn't it be supported by wi-fi?? i mean come on it's supported by windows windows has it's own program for it...so i mean wi-fi should be included shouldn't it...?? i've seen all the other iphone clones like the cect p168 and the desay 888 and it seems as if none of them support wi-fi...they say that the meizu is supposed to be better than the iphone...so i'm hoping that it is..

No one knows AFAIK.

But Meizu has a problem. The 8 GB iPhone is only $399 now, which is not that far above the Meizu M8. Applications like a NES emulator, the possibility to use the iPhone as modem etc. have been written already AFAIK, you can create your own ringtones, you can make it simlock free... and you get the superior interface and its very robust/hard to scratch too. The M8 still has better application support (at least I hope so), but other than that at the same price I would probably prefer the iPhone.

Yea but how much is the 16GB going to be? I thought the 16GB was supposed to be 2999 CNY, which is about $400.

The last newspost on MeizuMe about this was:
In another posting, he was found re-estimating the price to be 2380 and 2880 CNY (approx. $315 and $380 USD) for the 4GB and 8GB models respectively. He also confirmed that the units will be ready before 2008.
$380 vs. $399... and the $380 is the China price, and IIRC a Meizu player usually costs waaay more outside China (last time I checked it was about twice the price or so). And even if the price is the same, most people don't know Meizu, and would pick Apple since they don't see an advantage in the M8.

http://www.pmptoday.com/2007/09/09/t...n-november-07/

16gb 3g iphone in europe by november!

If this is the case I think that meizu should roll out he 16gb m8 early and try and impliment 3g as soon as possible. I have to admit even i was very tempted by the prospect of the iphone with 16gb and 3g.

I don't think they need to hurry. I'll wait a little longer for a better phone. I don't think anyone would want a rushed phone. That thing will cost $687. Slow and steady wins the race.

What's the big deal with iPhone?
It's something so awesome that all people is sooo surprised?
Come on guys have you forget how the PDA have developed???... how the cell phones have developed???... is touch screen the BIG THING right now???... is wireless connection so impressive???... was bluetooth invented by the greatest marketers of this world???
What I saw is a bunch of guys fiercely impressed by the marketing of a well known technology used for years, put together by guys who knows very well how to make money based in advertising.
All this to ask for abusive prices for a product that surely will serve just to show others that in a cell phone can be seen videos, which is the only difference of actual cell phones.
The worse part of this is that lots of resources are being spent to gain a race established by and for USA citizens.

I just need my M3 and M6 working fine...

Stop this silly race... just imagine how can feel the thousand of donkeys that stay long in a queue for a product paid US$ 200 more than it really cost, just to fulfil the plans created by genius of the marketing.

Gosh guys we are talking of a device that cost around US$ 600!!!!!!!!!

M8 Availability

Nope, not yet! It's not being made! There is a rumor that they are selling it to a distributor in Canada, which can distribute to the U.S.. It will still be called the MiniOne, but will be branded differently.
