i am realy excited about that wifi-question...

that are the opinions i have heard many times:
- china-version that will be released tomorrow: no wifi

i think that is clear.. only the question if with chip or without

but exciting is:
international version with wifi??
heard this from my dealer and chinese people

many say that is bullshit. maybe even no international version..

we will see!

i get one with wifi that is the main point xD

I (and everyone else) have been waiting for this for so long that I personally will wait a little longer to ensure any purchase will be of an official M8 - not a test M8.
Hopefull a M8 with WiFi too.

Why wait when the test version are essentially the same as the official ones (apart from a little text on a box saying "demo unit")? They won't add any hardware, but more likely remove the wifi chip, and you will have one less feature in your phone.

WiFi or no WiFi?

We just ordered a Meizu M8 in Beijing yesterday, and I'd have to assume it will be the "demo" unit also.

We need two more still, and it's a tough call whether to order quickly to get the disabled WiFi for sure, or to wait for the official released version with uncertain WiFi hardware.

Decisions, decisions...

As soon as someone can verify the official released version's WiFi the better for all of us.

Also: the official release; does that mean that Meizu has already sent thousands of official units out to retailers for them ready to sell today?
Anyone know of a good retailer in Beijing?

As soon as someone buys an official released version, please post retail packaging pics for comparisons to the demo version.

Cheers

So it finally might come out... It's too late for me, the M8 without Wi-Fi is a no buy for me.

Damn, who (and when) can find out if the official version has the WiFi chip.

I'm wanting to buy two more DEMO units if the official unit hasn't got the WiFi chip...

Rabsi1 ~ J.Wong has already mentioned plans for the next version of the M8 (the version that's supposed to have more features) - so no worries.

On the Chinese bb they are saying there is NO WiFi chip installed on the officially released version, although I am hard pressed to find out whether this is accurate info or not....

The complete lack of Wifi in the official version doesnt suprise me, since Wifi is reputedly banned by law. I do hope though that the rumors about an unofficial version with Wifi is true, although ive already ordered a Test version with the mentioned Chips still inside

Congratulations to Meizu

Wait...what happened...did I miss the party? Did J Wong bring girls in silver satin Meizu miniskirts? Did someone take photos or learn the secret handshake if you want to buy the 'unofficial' official version?

Im pretty sure wifi isnt atall illiegal in china, There may be a few laws passed surrounding wifi, But the missing wifi chip isnt because wifi is illiegal. Its not banned since there are so many devices using wifi in china anyway. Quick example, Ipod touch... I think its a good seller in china, still has wifi certified.

Anyway, without wifi. I guess ill be waiting for the next M8 V2, Helloo 4 yearsss XD (Btw, its almost been 3 already right???)
