Meizu M8 Release Date: December 8-10, Unofficially
On December 5, the Meizu M8 will start being produced on a large scale. It is estimated that the units will be ready to be shipped out to retailers between the 8-10th this month.
However, since Meizu still haven't obtained the network license to legally sell this phone in China, these first phones will be marked as Demo units (Not for sale) on the packaging.
I really hope this is true, however I've to wait till January before I can order my M8 But, it isn't really important to have a Network license for the behaviour of the M8 it's communication, is it?
So wait, will these so called "Demo units" be the exact same as the retail versions? Is the "Demo unit" name just being used to bypass the licensing issues?
Also, does this mean that I will be able to purchase one next week? I am a Canadian, and I have been eagerly awaiting the release of this phone... When can I get mine?

J.W said this demo unit is same as the retail versions except the license(including the warranty).
But the firmware is update every week, the newest is 0.6.0.2(U can update the firmware by yourself).
I`m afraid U cannot buy one next week cause the amount of demo unit is limited.
Just for information, do you know if someone has tried to run android on the M8? (maybe in the chinese community, Wong... anyone)
I think the answer will be negative, but if someone could try, imho it would be a great thing...
Android is open-source, I'm not sure if it's free though. The amount of work it will take to implement is a lot, and I'm not sure if anyone would like to do it. There probably will be a small Dev team working on it, like the current RockBox team.
It's free but even if it wouldn't be, someone could easily share the code after buying it because of the copyleft and permissive licenses it's released under.
The source code is available here: Welcome ?(Android Open Source Project?)
"The ultimate iPhone clone, the Meizu M8 is finally out, well the demo unit. The demo units are now out for public test driving in Shenzhen, Guangzhou and the reviews have been great."
