Iaax, if you're who i supose, let me tell you that although Ipod doesn't have bad sound, it is so far away from miniplayer's sound. The M6 sound is better than ipod...

When a Mac site (http://macenstein.com/default/archives/450) thinks that the Meizu has better sound quality... there has to be a reason.
The Meizus are pretty new, and hard to get hold of in Europe. Netzwelt, a german website, thinks the Meizu is good aswell. http://www.netzwelt.de/news/74593-ei...ass-meizu.html Even at Head-Fi they have quite a few fans.

Personally I think that the iPods are a disgrace to Apple... their computers/programs are great and I love them and Apple, but the iPods... there are several brands that I would prefer.

Ps: What is a renowed swizz magazine? I've seen "renowed" magazines writing off products with completely false information. I'm somewhat sceptical.

Apple sound quality is the of no comparison to other music players (eg Meizu). The sound is bass-less, treble is awful, and you can hardly feel the music pumping by using the iPod. No offence to iPod lovers.

Who cares what magazines think? It's your personal preference. And by personal tests and by some others here, it is safe to say that iPods do not have the standard of sound quality that they should have.

The odd thing seems to be that the problems with the sound quality of the Ipod compared to the Meizu or Iaudios doesn't seem to be caused as much by the sound chip used as it is by those terrible pre-set EQ settings without the option to adjust them...
I really dont understand why they keep doing that...

It's supposedly to "protect the ears" (Read: cover our asses in such a way as to not give anyone any reason to sue us. After all, users are so stupid they don't know how to safely turn up a volume knob without rupturing their eardrums).

Apple's not the only one that does this, mind you - IIRC there were similar complaints over O2's volume limiter as well, which sometimes ends up waaay too soft for half the folks out there. Thankfully, it can be reghacked, but that's not the point.

Why do you have to have a Japanese sounding name and then copy design from other companies (ie Apple) to create your own products? Surely there's enough talent to create your own name and own designs???? have you people ever heard of intellectual property? Copyright? Obviously not when there's money to be made...sigh

I know, I know, I shouldn't feed the troll, but still, it's linguistic ignorance that's spewed here. Meizu is Chinese and is Chinese-sounding. It's, like most people's names in China, made up of two characters that have a nice meaning, the kind of meaning a parent would want to instill in its boy or girl, and a manager in its employees and products.

Actually, thing is, Meizu stands for magic race, magic nationality. Zu is the character that is used in the word minzu (民族), which denotes the ethnicity of a Chinese person (93% of the Chinese are Hanzu, but there are over fifty other ethnicities, and some of them have very distinct cultures and physical features - may I mention the zhangzu, or Tibetan ethnicity, and perhaps the Huizu, a predominantly muslim group with roots in central Asia).

I guess most Chinese people would understand this.

Apple has broken cell phone standards with their design. Of course other people will come and use and re-use features, but to take a BMW and stick a Skoda badge on it and call it a new car is plain stupid and a blatant rip-off.
At the end of the day, you reap what you sow and (even the name is stupid) Meizu will suffer the fate of all thiefs.

K for one the design of the iphone is not original AT all its a freeking rectangle with rounded edges... and a screen... so your saying any company that decides not to put boutons on their phone is an iphone rip off? i bet you iphone fan boys would still say they are ripping off iphone if they removed the chrome trim when infact it wouldnt look like the iphone anymore.
Meizu will obviously use the icons that are in vista currently or windows icons in the final design since it is running a windows os.

you can take this and remove the boutons... change it to black... add some chrome trim maybe enlarge the screen... hmm lets add itunes to that too and make the touch screen multi touch... would it not be safe at that point to say iphone riped it off!? especially with all the things you fan boys are saying?

I know this has been asked before, and i havent seen anyone answer, and i've searched around the site for one. I'm not real savvy on cell phones, i've always just used the phone my carrier gave me. But does the MiniOne come with a SIM card slot? I was told if a phone is GSM band then it does SIM card by default, but i'd rather get an answer from some folks that know this stuff.

of course how else will you use the phone?
mobile phones always need some sort of SIM or chip to work

beware though that the fact that the phone takes A sim doesnt mean it will work with YOUR sim.
The network you are on has to match the frequencies the phones uses too

for example: the average European or Asian phone will not work in the US
vice versa US phones usually dont work in Europe or Asia

When it comes to mobile phones its not very handy if you're on the US frequencies as it seriously limits your options abroad if you dont have a quadband phone(that's a phone that takes 4 instead of 2 or 3 frequencies)

I'm with Cingular in the US which runs on Quadband GSM (850/900/1800/1900mhz) friends of mine have got phones from importgsm.com that work fine over here in the states so i'm hoping the same for the m8. My razr v3 will do fine until the m8 is released
