I have a suggestion if you don't mind. You can buy the iPhone when it is out and we will buy the miniOne. How about that? You will be happy and we will be happy.

At the end of the day, people who support Apple will buy its products even if they were the worst products out there, which they are not at all but at the same time they are not the best. People who visit this forum do like to follow a more adventurous route which is that of buying a product based on its real potential and capabilities, even if that means it is not from Apple, HP, Dell etc. Judging from the miniPlayer, Meizu have proven themselves with a product of really high quality and one that easily beats all of its competitors. Furthermore, they have been listening to their customers and have been providing numerous firmware upgrades which have offered more and more features. Hopefully this trend will continue with the miniOne.

I'm from spain so excuse for my english.

I'm a forum moderator of the meizu community in the spanish forum www.reproductormp3.net. The forum administrator have been contacting meizu since much time, and meizu have told the meizu minione M8 base design concept and prototypes are before the apple iphone. The white design was the first in 2006, and 5 days before apple show the iphone, meizu show the second design.



Of course you are thinking this could be an interested and false information, but I think there is very difficult to find out who copied who.

Anyway, in my opinion the ripp-off discussion is not the important. It doesn't matter who was the first, the most important thing is who is the better gadget. Well, even if we accept meizu copied apple , whats wrong with it?
If the supposed copy had a better size, better resolution, etc, it's another choice at a better price. I don't know what it should be a bad thing, even for a apple fan like you (xerxes) it should be better because there will be a more competitive market.

I'm not interested in iphone or minione, but I own a miniplayer and I've had or listen nano 1st generation and shuffle 1st gen. too, and the sound quality is far better in the meizu.

I think you can hardly talk about "x" copied "Y" from viewing two pictures and not knowing about neither funktions nor internals. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't even know how the m8 will be operated and what features it will have.

Apple is all about design and image of their products (which is great). But their hardware is mediocre at best and sold for a lot of money. Check the laptop failure rates and you'll know what I mean. All their pcs have relatively slow (but cheap) RAM/Harddrives build into them which limits their speed.
Fact is, besides their OS (which is indeed great), they do not make quality products.

This is where the meizu player could come in. They proofed with the m6 that they can build quality hardware. I hope that they continue doing so.

I think it's totally understandable that a small company like meizu orientated it's design on an Apple product. But I do not condone cloning. I think it's too early to distinguish between those two things. Meizu can and probably will make a lot of changes to their m8.

I prefer to compare two available products instead of two pictures and base my opinion on facts and not rumors.

does anyone think it doesnt reallt matter since most of us have mp3 players and mobiles
i know having 1 instead of 2 might be easier... but convfergence often means worse or more ecxpeive and if you lose it :O(

how big is it?
i doubt ill get one anyways im getting the m6 and have a mobile, everything else is probs not worth the money to me at least unless it has some maazing feature i dont know about

I can't wait to get one, I was going to buy the old version but when I saw the new meizu I didn't buyd the old one, I am waiting 3 months.

Funny, we have Macs and PCs at our school. iMacs from 2001 run the newest version of OS X (Tiger), we had not a single machine with a hardware problem in 6 years! In the same timeframe we had to replace almost 50% of the PCs we had because of hardware failures (and they weren't cheap ones!), plus we will have to keep them at WinXP because you can forget about installing Vista on anything older than 2 months…

Apple has worked on the iPhone for years, records show that this design has been patented more than 2 years before LG announced their phone. Don't be ridiculous…

Funny, in an extensive test in a renowned swiss magazine of 20 of the most used mp3 players the iPod had the best sound quality. There wasn't even a Meizu player tested, which shows just how important they are…

I wouldn't say the iPod produces one of the worst SQ's, I just dislike it for the fact there's no adjustable EQ, but only preset EQ's.

An iPod using the line-out to an amp has extremely good SQ, but that's more money involved.
