people can say what they want as long as its not nasty, they might get less synmpathy yes, but I'm sure many people on this site are non-biased enough that if an argument seems to say apple is better they won't be immature (not saying apple is better in this case btw)
i prefer meizu from what i have read (dont have one yet) but i use this site for info, because most people are nice and cos yus, miniplayer news is exciting ^___^

Citizenklaw, I think you need to crawl out from under your rock and open your eyes.
It is not about development. Look at the Razr and the long line of 'similar-ethos' designed phones. Even though none of those phone did anything different.
Apple has broken cell phone standards with their design. Of course other people will come and use and re-use features, but to take a BMW and stick a Skoda badge on it and call it a new car is plain stupid and a blatant rip-off.
At the end of the day, you reap what you sow and (even the name is stupid) Meizu will suffer the fate of all thiefs.
Use for God-given brain, and LOOK at the iPhone:

[QUOTE=citizenklaw;8059]Xerxes, what's your gripe? A rip off from Apple? Under what rock have you been living in for the past two decades?.....]

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsOK, let's look at facts.
Did Apple come up with all the solutions and ideas for the iPhone themselves? Absolutely not!
The iPhone's most discussed feature, which is the multi-touch touchscreen is in fact the brainchild of another company. The technology was developed by a company called FingerWorks, which Apple purchased a few years ago. For more info look at this:
http://www.onecompare.com/mobile-new...phone-revealed
Now, about the whole notion of the Meizu miniOne being a rip-off from the iPhone. Meizu did indeed borrow quite a few styling touches from Apple. I think no-one disagrees with that. However, if Apple fanboys believe that their favourite company has been the creator of all things Apple they are sadly mistaken. To start with the iPhone is not even their own brand-name. It belongs to Cisco. The coveted "Mac" trademark belonged to another company and Apple had to pay that company $2mln in an out-of-court settlement ito be allowed to use it. The company was Management and Computer Services inc, a small software company based in Philadelphia. This is according to no other than the former Apple CEO John Sculley, who stated so in his biography. In amongst the pages of his book, Scully states that the Al (Eisenstat, Apple's general counsel) had argued at full volume that Steve should pick another name for the computer.
But this isn’t all! Apple also had to pay McIntosh Labs to use the name. Early Mac literature says "Licensed from McIntosh Laboratories, Inc.", but that all changed when Apple bought rights to the name outright. At the time prior to launch, the Macintosh name was such a respectable name and adored by all, that Apple paid McIntosh Labs a never disclosed amount of money for use of the name.
From the looks of things, it makes you wonder who else Apple have ‘bought’ their names from, and if there is any underlying legal battles waiting to rear their heads.

Xerxes, why don't you plug your iPod headphones back into your ears and leave? Dude, you're in the wrong forum.

Fraxos, I am not questioning the legitmacy of the iPhone's features or even their origin. Whatever Apple paid for to create this product is their right. But at the end of the day, they PAID someone (as you say yourself) for a service/ product and they have PAID someone else to design a product to sell to make MONEY.
If the Moozi was at least similar in technology then it wouldn't matter as with the LG toy. What I am referring to, again, is an IDENTICAL COPY OF DESIGN.

Xerxes, they may look a bit like each other, but they are not the same.
Apples phone got lots of features that are not planned for the meizu.
Which also affects the price, Meizu should be cheaper than the apple one.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsSo by your own words, it is OK to force someone to hand over a trademark in exchange for some cash while it is not OK to create a similar product? And to speak of that, apart from the casing and the white back which part is the same? The size? Nope, the miniOne is smaller. The software used? Nope, miniOne uses Windows CE. The touchscreen? Nope, Apple copied this themselves from other phonemakers, the Neonode N1 is one the springs to mind. Check it up.
Or perhaps it is the specs? Nope again. Better CPU, better screen, better camera, better specs altogether.
So just because it looks like the iPhone does not make it a rip-off. In fact it borrows a few design hints from the iPhone and creates a product which is altogether much, much better.
If you don't like it, it's your call but people who come here come because they support small companies that want to do good, produce quality products and make a name for themselves, such as Meizu. You know the very same thing a small company from Cupertino, California tried to do a few years ago. Care to guess which is this company?
