I would have to agree
I would have to agree. I have a Meizu MP3 player and it had fallen apart after 5 months of use. The quality is lacking on the product. If the Meizu phone is going to be the same quality as their other products, I don't know how reliable it will be.
The quality of the Meizu products just doesn't seem to be there. Something is lacking. They have good ideas, but something from design to manufacturing doesn't translate. Oh well, such is life. I wouldn't worry about the phone until it actually comes out into production. That will be the real test. Everyone on this forum can say what they want, but no one can say that they have used one of the M8 phones. I see some bloggers say that it is in testing, which it supposedly has been for about a year based on what has been posted. I just think we need to see what actually comes out of Meizu. Only then will we know for sure if this is just a good product or a great one. That's my 2 cents worth!

For example (this is for the slow ones out there), I can say my grandma can run 100M in 5 seconds. No one can deny that if she never runs it. See my point? Again, there is no FULLY-FUNCTIONAL M8 unit out there that does everything that Meizu claims it does. Heck, there isn't a fully-functional M8 that even does half of what Meizu claims it can do. And let's face it folks, if it did, Meizu would be the first ones out there screaming how wonderful their product is. I have yet to see it. I'll bet you have yet to see it. Until that point, it's vapor-ware and there is no denying it unless you own one and if you do, put a nice little video up on YouTube on how wonderful it is.
Holy cow! And you call me a "fanboy". -Double Yikes!
The truth is, Meizu hasn't just said that they have a phone, so your comparison is stupid. Testing is supposed to start pretty soon, 3 days away. Calling the Meizu M8 obsolete is just idiotic. You're telling me that they wasted their time and money on nothing, it's just vaporware? Sir, you win the most idiotic statement of the year. And the year's not even over yet. I NEVER said that I owned one. Testing is beginning in 3 days, so if you can wait that long, maybe a little longer, maybe someone will be kind enough to post a video. You said you've seen the boards, and you call it vaporware. They're basically done with the hardware and working on the software, you think they've been faking it all along?
Holy crap! You called it vaporware! By the way, in the top right corner, it does say "Fansite and Forum for Meizu Products" so there probably is going to be some fanboys. You're just another blind Apple fanboy.

Oh but hey maybe he is right and they investet nearly all their budget in proto-types and UI-Development to fool us. yes, that would be a big advantage for Meizu, people will think "hey, thos from Meizu are so cool and Wong got such a great humor, I will buy 100 M6s"
MonkeyButt: Yes your right there, but its an the weak Point of the m6 is the Firmware, not the Hardware.
I must admit that I also got several FW-problems with my m6 (luckily I was able to fix them all)
But Meizu invested much more time and moneye in the software-development than he did with m6, because they know that a stable software is one of the most important things of a phone.
I would bet that the Hardware is final or nearly-final since long time oand all they do by now is software development.
Look unregistred, MonkeyButt did a SENS-FULL critic :P
see and lern
BTW:
sry its a german joke (;

I would think that that would hurt that image badly. It it were actually vaporware, people would be pissed off for waiting so long for it to come out. I wouldn't buy another Meizu product if it were vaporware.

Or a month or two, which seems to be how it's been with the M8. Do you think they will be able to roll the M8 out before Christmas?

Stop spamming. If you want to advertise your account, go somewhere else.

Why? I would have figured that Meizu fans would like Spam or any other type of imitation products, considering you seem to endorse (and probably use) imitation iPods and the soon to be imitation iPhone. You know what I mean, don't think of it as Spam, think of it as knock-off advertising! :-)

He's advertising some stupid website for more hits, I don't know why that is. If the M8 is considered as a clone, it's a clone of any touchscreen of the last 10 years. You do know that Apple didn't invent the touchscreen, right? The M3 is obviously a knock off, but the M6 is not anywhere close to a knock off. The iPhone is an overpriced phone, and the M8 will give the iPhone a run for it's money.

Well, it's now approximately 10 PM on 15 August 2008 in China. I'm guessing the allusive M8 won't show today. Let's see if Meizu can launch it on Monday, 18 August 08.
(In all fairness to the quote above, he never really gave a month or a year, just the 15th.)

When will it be for sale?
My earlier question was vague. What I want to know is if anyone knows when it will be available for purchase?

Noone knows for sure. Meizu claims Q4 (at least when you live in China). But I don't think Meizu will release it this year.

Error-1, I was referring to the first 20 for testing. Not the retail release.

Sad to say they really did take too long to release it.
Even the slowest developers have caught up.
To name a few:
Sony Ericsson P1i and G900
Samsung Omnia
HTC Diamond
Phones that are winning M8 specs are already released.
I wanted to wait but my phone died before M8 was released >.<
Too bad i guess.
