The Meizu M8 - Next In Line

In recent forum posts by Meizu manager Mr. Wong, he revealed that M7 will most likely be skipped by Meizu who's next product after the Music Card will be the M8.
The Meizu M8 is going to be a music phone (57x105x11.5mm) for the GSM and TD networks with a 3.3-inch 720x480 pixel VGA+ touch sensitive screen, 3 mega-pixel camera, ARM11 CPU capable of recording video in 30FPS utilizing the entire screen resolution, Bluetooth and TV Out. Supposedly, it will also run the latest version of Microsoft's Windows for mobile devices; Windows CE 6.0. After the release of the official concept renders, the M8 has already been stamped as an Apple iPhone clone.
Currently, Meizu are still deciding whether or not to include WiFi and DMB functionality.
Also, aside from the new 8GB M6, a 6.9mm thin M6 is also in the works. Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsWhoa, so this is actually legit and not fanboy art?! Nice! Looking forward to hearing additional info like capacity, sd card slot (don't see one
), and whether there is any chance that it will ever appear over here in the states. Oh, and pricing and release date too

Then again...
Apple knew, and knows, this will happen. Also, this shouldn't surprise anyone. Anybody here old enough to remember the first motorola flip phone? (The StarTAC)? That and it's great granchild, the Razor, has been cloned multiple times by hundreds of manufacturers, legit and not.
What really irks me is the fact that the headline reads: "Apple lawyers, start your engines". Blah. Assuming this is real I'd bet a lot of money that it'll be better than the iPhone just for one, and only one, thing: it would be open. Not tied to any proprietary formats, DRM or networks. This would be a pretty slick kit.
*sigh* A shame I live in the ConsUmer States of A.
Proud to be an owner of a M6!

Internet has an answer for every question out there, not likely to be always the answer you're looking for.

Doogie, I'm giving the art a 50/50 chance to be legit. It's way too easy nowadays to whip up something in Photoshop or GIMP. Remember when the rumor mill started on the true iPhone 1.5/2 years ago?

Not sure I am that interested in the M8 but the 6.9mm M6 sounds pretty, pretty, pretty good.

Yea, as long as it stays down to under 300 or so. If this is the case, you can count me in.
I'm tired of people making fun of everything that looks remotely close to an Apple product. If Apple is confident enough, then they don't need to worry about other products. I just hate the way they can manipulate people into thinking that their products are the best thing ever.
Theres plenty of other awesome products out there and people just aren't looking hard enough.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsAs I said in that other thread: I'll never buy a PMP that runs Windows. So I really hope at least that part of it is fake, or that they might reconsider it. Now if this was running Linux, that would be awesome!

looks cool but I was hoping for teh next generation follow up fpor the M6...not a phone...

They can pull it off if the phone can be bought on the net and it can be used in US nets with SIM cards. That'll make me finally switch from stinky Sprint PCS. As if I didn't have any further motivation to switch. ;-)
Make the OS Linux, and I'm all for Meizu.

One caveat: I don't see a memory slot in this mock-up. I wonder if it's in the vicinity of the battery. If it is, it's a real inconvenience. Does the iPhone has a mem slot?
