The M3 is ok but too Ipod like
The M8 is a phone-something I personally don't care for much-that looks too much like the Iphone.
Id prefer to see the M8 be the successor of the M6 with a bigger screen, leaner design, improved controls and bigger memory etc...

I think they had made the right decision. Phone is a market for billion users. They can support video-phone because they added two cameras.
Apple will hate them

Too good to be true!
It needs to have Windows Mobile so it can sync with Outlook and display Microsoft Office files. This would give it even more advantages over apples offering. I would buy one in a minute.
But how can they sell a phone without a network service provider?

I hope its not dualband gsm like all other chinese phones. At least triband would be great

meh, if meizu want originality, they should take miniplayer2 fan art and turn it into a slide phone. Ultimate piece of tech that would be.
Current Rigs:
8GB iAudio 7 > Not in use
4GB + 32GB iAudio D2 > Alessandro MS-Pro
Sony MZ-NH1 > Headroom Total Bithead > Grado Labs PS-1
2GB Meizu M6 T1 > Not in use
8GB iPod Touch 2G > Shure SE530

My take on this is that for a new player:
1. what I want is a bigger screen, but don't want a massive player, that means a touch screen rather than a scren and control buttons - M8 has this, well done Meizu.
2. If I want the best price point (which I do) it needs to be a player that will cayer for real mass markets, not just niche, this means they have to tap into the mobile market - M8 has this, well done Meizu.
3. If they want adoption as a little known company (at the moment) then they need to piggyback off platforms that people trust. They also need to ensure a full range of trusted apps can work on the layer. This means Windows or Symbian are the best current options (i'm not knocking apple os or linus, but currently for mobiles the former two are the market leaders) - M8 has this, well done Meizu.
4. To catch peoples attention, the design has to generate press coverage and be liked. The iPhone has this, but the M8 although similar (which I think is a good thing) can be seen to be a development of other meizu products such as the slim M6. It's also smaller than the iPhone. - Well done Meizu let's hope the press coverage continues.
5. As a possible business phone it needs video conferencing (front facing camera) but normally this means losing the rear facing photo possibilities. - M8 has this, well done Meizu.
All in all the M8 scores really well when it comes to good business sense in producing a modern product. I hope it does well, but for it to do so, we really need as soon as possible a launch date and price, and a final specification list.
The things I think Meizu should still look at are:
a. 3G compatability
b. Wi-Fi compatibility
c. Tri or Quad band
d. Memory card slot
e. GPS built in

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsIf it were a personal video player that didn't have phone integration I'd buy it...
As in, keep the 3mp camera, keep the large touchscreen, keep the music and video functionality...Dump the GSM 3G stuff...
I have a perfectly good phone and by bundling them both together it will not make me want to buy it...
M7 should be the thine without phone capabilities, looks exactkly the same just ditched...If that were the case, Meizu would have a much larger customer base: those seeking seamless integreation of 3 devices (ala iPhone) or just people wanting a PVP...

Well, seems that Meizu does have a lot of different concept ideas regarding M8 as you can see:

Also, reading Meizu BBS i found the following pictures:

There you can see some non-official specs of M7, posted by Mr J. Wong some days ago, such as
- Windows powered
- Name: Miniplayer II
- Screen size: 2.6 inch VGA 640*480
I don't wanna go out of topic here so, judge by yourself and look at screen comparaison with M8 :D
Also, keep reading more about it here
I think we will see at least 3-4 new models coming from Meizu this year

Internet has an answer for every question out there, not likely to be always the answer you're looking for.

Hope the M7/M8 phones are not as expensive as the IPhones when they come out - this way, it'll make more people want to buy M7/M8 instead of IPhones!Meizu M8 MiniOne

Price converts to about £230.00
For a phone/media player etc with this level of features, it's not really that bad.
Just need to find a dealer/network that will take it on so I can get a contract deal on it!
I hope it's out in July as my contract expires in April, so that way I'll only need to hold for a coupl eof months to get my hands on one.
.....I wonder if Meizu need anyone to test a pre-release model in the UK.... hmmmmm... worth an email to them methinks!
