Meizu M8 Mini One Enhanced by Tencent?

Meizu CEO Jack Wong announced today that Meizu is undergoing talks with Chinese internet portal Tencent, the company behind the software QQ, China's most popular IM platform.

In a brief message, Jack hinted that the Meizu M8 Mini One might come bundled (similar to what Apple has done with iPhone, Yahoo and Google) with QQ instant messaging, weather, games and music software / services powered by Tencent.

Still, them talking about these things mean the m8 is still far from done. Pictures of the hardware dummy phone are still not out, and on the software side this Tencent stuff is busy.

So? It's a Chinese product for the Chinese market ... let them have their IM application etc.

As the M8 will be running Win CE it souldn't be a problem to get the programs installed that you are interested in.

Probably not. I think we'll definitely see it in Q1 of 2008

Agreed. They must hurry up if they want M8 to sell when it's finally released on the marked, the iPhone is coming to Europe and I don't think someone who has already bought an iPhone will buy a M8 instead. (mostly due to laziness)

Personally I am/was willing to wait quite a bit for M8, but this is dragging on. I'm sad to say that there's a limit of how long I'm willing to wait even though I think it looks like a good product, I need a new phone already.

The problem is that there's simply no release date. Without that you don't have a reference point or anything to when that thing's coming out. We have been waiting like 10 months now since it was first announced, nothing about a release has come out except the promise that the units will be ready for testing at december 31st. For all they care that can take a few months, plus some time for it to be available worldwide.

I can't be too positive now...
