    I Don't Know Anymore...

With the recent cut in iPod prices, this is becoming less and less attractive. The only saving grace will be if this is going to have a full browser like the iPhone or Archos 605 WiFi (archos even supports Flash!). I think this will be huge if it supports MS Exchange (Corporate Calendaring, Cantacts and E-Mail). If it doesn't, then they don't stand a chance...

It looks no thicker than my iPhone 8gb.

It'll be interesting to see which one I'll use more, the M8 or my iPhone.

I guess it really depends on the M8's screen quality, call quality and capacity, though I have grown quite fond of 'multi-touch'.

The M8 was more attractive pricewise when the iPhone was $600 but now I might as well get an iPhone or iPod Touch.
What you fail to take into consideration is that the quoted prices are for the M8 w/Phone capabilities... and an UNLOCKED one at that!

Understand that many will find this phone/PMP very appealing for the fact that it'll support open-source codecs (as all Meizu players do), will offer true UMS support (all all Meizu players do), will not be locked into anyone's silly hardware/software scheme, and looks to be an unlocked phone that won't be purposely 'crippled' by a company that simply wants to squeeze as much cash out of customers as possible via firmware upgrades.

Note: If the device doesn't meet your needs, then the choice is easy...

    Don't Buy One!

I really hope the new Meizu products will incorporate seamless playback between tracks. I'm starting to lose my mind -- the gaps between continuous tracks literally takes half of the listening experience away.

Honestly why does everyone care about multitouch.
The only few multitouch features are the zooming in and out

multitouch is great for huge applications not small ones
multitouch == 2 fingers used (Multi Touch)
so if you like to hold your phone with one hand, you won't use like feature much.

for those quick scroll and stuff can be all achieved with single touch which has been done by many other devices like HTC Touch (Search Touch-Flo), Samsung P2(PMP)

No offense to multitouch lovers, i find it cool too. >.<

Note: Apple products sell for their interface and user friendliness and not their technology. Apple sell with ease of use rather than having many features.

    Only time will tell XD

Before 'multi-touch', buyer expectations for touch-screen devices was very different, but now that it does exist, and people have used it, any device utilizing a 'touch' interface that doesn't support a version of it will be deemed (often incorrectly) as being inferior...

That's just the way things are.

Meizu doesn't have much time left....

If they wont release it SOON, (talking about januari/februari widely available as ultimate limit), they'll be too far off. The m8 will be too weak without proper 3G, 3G iphone will be long available by then. That will mean the iphone has already gotten a refresh while we're still waiting everpatiently for m8.

I also don't think that the competition will stand still either.
(m8 go duke nukem forever rank! -- rofl :P)

Furthermore, for those clever ones who jailbreak the iphone let me also assure you it is a pain in the butt. And the updates to prevent the jailbreak will come faster and faster. No doubt the new ways of jail breaking will also, but thats going to be a far bigger mess than its worth. Jail breaking your iphone once a month or two. Not including all the software that may have to be reloaded or updated. One big mess. Its worth paying the 20 extra bucks for the Meizu to get free wifi capability trust me.
What do you mean with "the iphone browser tracks your wifi usage"? Of course wifi on the iphone is free.

Well... for a device that will cost about US$250, that it's supposed that comes with MP4, PDA, Cell phone, Camera, Flash, slot for tripod, Wifi, Bluetooth, Windows Mobile 6, Linux, Internet Navigator, GPS, multi-touch, Braille, Worldwide maps, and some others I've read here, to squeeze oranges, peel peanuts and warm pop-corn are goodies assumed... but to install a levitation feature will put to Meizu engineers a serious challenge.

Since i'm no way a yankee, but rather a proud European citizen
i would definitely love to see a dark/black version of the MiniOne,
    better than a chromed-out bling-bling nigga-'n-da-hood version.

I've been following the Meizu MiniOne project. and i like it now most than ever.
Just put an DVB-H tuner in it,
    NO DRM enforcement on multimedia
and i'm pretty much ready to scream.

i love that black version, it's the Monolyth from 2001 Space Odissey.

Excuse my ignorance... what is DVB-H tuner?

Another question... can I add this feature in the list of goodies that the M8 will have?
