It used to be something like 400 dollars for the 8Gb model, it's now for 16Gb

Hmm, the iPod Touch is actually a good deal compared to the Meizu M8 (8gb for $320 vs 8gb for $299). Didn't Meizu say the M8 would not have phone capabilities when it comes to the US, if it ever does? In that case, I might as well get an iPod Touch and jailbreak it. The M8 was more attractive pricewise when the iPhone was $600 but now I might as well get an iPhone or iPod Touch.

it certainly will have wifi. And it will have an unique touch technology maybe you can call it M-Touch(Meizu-Touch) haha

Incidentally talk about ramos v80 (another Chinese manufacturers) also achieved a good sliding touch technology(Win-Touch)

Therefore, we have reason to believe that m8 touch technology will be better!Last edited by gavien_1; 10-31-2007 at 06:40 PM.

I think in all respects a good price mark would be $250 4gb
$300 8gb $350 16gb... at those prices id buy one...
I just think its ridiculous charging such hudge amounts for memory upgrades... unless there are extra/less features to the higher capacity versions it should not be $140 differance for just extra space. Not claiming profit of just the pure resale of the NAND chips would be a good step for meizu and attract people to the higher capacitys... resulting in price cuts not being neccasary.
The prices should be
-----$250 4gb------$300 8GB-----$350 16GB------
Period.
And from my understanding multi touch is not patented by apple as this would be a very hard thing to stop people from re-producing... Thats basically saying a input decive cannot recognise two things... Not a realistic thing to stop.Click the little (+/-) button next to someone to reward or punish someone

Meizu fans imagined the Bluetooth wireless control and the protection Crystal Coat, see that the m8 still quite looking forward for those fans.

once again all of you people complaining about price need to get your heads checked by a specialist. These prices are very cheap, considering meizu are a small company, with miniscule buying power compared to apple, yet still choose to use quality components. Find me a 16gb cell phone with ALL the capabilities that the m8 is said to have for $400, i'll make it easy for you.......there isn't one. Also find me a $320 cell phone with ALL the capabilities (including unlocked, usb otg, all the codec support etc) the 8gb m8 is said to have.....easy again... there isn't one. All this crap about a new 8gb unlocked iphone costing any where near $300 is complet s**t. To compare an iphone (which has a lower spec than the m8 anyway) on a 2 year AT&T contract to a higher specd new unlocked m8 is a completely unfair and frankly stupid comparison to even attempt to make. THE TRUTH IS (listen closely you clowns): An unlocked iphone 8gb on average costs $500 plus and gets outspeced by the m8 in almost every department. So basically a 16gb M8 still costs less than a new 8gb unlocked iphone. Also you would be paying $500 + for a lower specd phone if you bought an iphone. Only time will tell what prices will drop to. By the time the M8 is released the iphone may well be a better deal. Go look on ebay....do none of you do any research? You are living in lala land if you think meizu should be selling this any cheaper. Go look at the price for a highend nokia or sony ericsson phone, they are all WAY more than the m8. Just because meizu can sell flash daps for cheaper does not have any correlation with the prices of cell phones, its a completely different market.

Can't wait to see those in-hand model shots. Just need those and an expected release date and I'll be happy.
And is the M7 just going to be a phone-less version of this? Perhaps a bit slimmer, but the same form overall?

Hi guys
Great phone! Can't wait for release information.
I read though that there won't be a flash with the camera? Is that correct?
Am I missing something somewhere? Because I don't see the purpose of having a camera without some sort of flash.
Thanks everyone.

The design might not be finalised 100% yet, and even if a flash were to be included it would most probably be a weak LED flash as opposed to a proper Xenon flash.
Cameraphones are only meant for on the fly party shots (With some exceptions), if you wanted good image quality I suggest using a proper camera.Current Rigs:
8GB iAudio 7 > Not in use
4GB + 32GB iAudio D2 > Alessandro MS-Pro
Sony MZ-NH1 > Headroom Total Bithead > Grado Labs PS-1
2GB Meizu M6 T1 > Not in use
8GB iPod Touch 2G > Shure SE530
