oh. yeah. battery life. thanks for reminding me about this. I was thinking, Oh, why keep my m6 if i have an m8. but if playing music all day on my m8 is going to suck the life out of it, then i guess i'll have to just keep the m6.

    pricing issue

I just hope Meizu can stay competitive now that Iphone is droping its 4gb competly and lowering the 8gb version to $400. Wait isn't that the cost of the Meizu 8gb version? I think Meizu will be better ,but now with Iphones price drop things may get ugly :P Hopefully this means at least a 50-60 USD price drop in the 8gb version of the Meizu minione because Americans (although the phone is not geared to them) in large will not buy an outsider phone at the same cost of the name brand.

You're right but also don't forget that with the iphone you're locked with AT&T for 24 month !!!!

The iPhone is not ''geared'' towards the North American market as a product any more than any other world phone, except for it being released so far only on the US market, aside from that its a GSM (read worldwide network) with your typical world phone frequencies.

Your statement about ''name brand'' and ''outsider phone'' are somewhat confusing, both are brand names and outsiders (read: newcomers) to the phone business!

    You mean ''cheaper''?

M8 hasn't been released as of yet so any prices that might have been indicated anywhere are not final confirmed prices.

Also Meizu doesn't work like Apple where its only Apple and at&t stores that are officially selling the iPhone.

    mmmm

will, due to the droping price of Iphone; M8's price is just droped, too.
Anyway, do not worry about the price. i am 100% sure M8 will always cheaper than Iphone.
The only thing i do care about is the quality and UI.

And about the Iphone's "removable battery", I donot want always bring a back up battery with a screwdriver.

    international edition will have wifi,
but chinese edition will blocked the wifi.
block!! it means they build the wifi inside, but they disable it to make it lawful.
just like the iphone, you need sign with at&t in order to use the iphone.
however, is everyone bought iphone and at&t service together? "NO!"

people unlock the iphone, we can unlock the m8's wifi, too.

$400? That's a bit too steep for me. For that price I can just get an iPhone which probably has a better warranty as well as customer service. Meizu made a BIG MISTAKE by setting the price that high. It appears as if the iPhone has more features at the same price. I don't really see the point in getting the M8 now.

More features like what? Remember, the minione is unlocked and has a removable battery. Better customer support? Says who? According to Meizu, the 16GB M8 was supposed to be around $400.

    400$ is too much.
I can buy and unlock an iPhone for that price, and altough the m8 looks very promising, for this price I'd rather just have the real thing, quirks and all. When someone sees you talking on an iPhone, they know its an iPhone. When someone sees you talking on this they will think 'hey that looks interesting', but its not the same, improved features, functionality, ect aside.

I don't know what planet you guys are living on but $400 for the m8 is cheap. Go to ebay and type in nokia n95 and see what kind of prices come up for this phone. The m8 beats this in all departments except photo and video capture and the fact it has 3g (meizu are said to be implementing this option in later models). Hundreds of far inferior specd phones cost more than $400. You have to be realistic about the price, the m8 has a lot of technology on board. And you are stupid if you think you can get an 8gb iphone NEW and unlock it for $400 without having to sign a long contract. Also you can get an unlocked iphone but at the moment firmware updates re-lock the phone so you will not be able to update. You will also have to use itunes, you will not have flac, ogg, divx, xvid etc and other popular format support (but everyone knows this when you buy apple). In addition you will be one of many millions of people who own already or will soon own the iphone, originality is not an option when you own an iphone. The main problem I can forsee with the m8 is not the price but more firmware issues. Meizu's track record in fixing firmware bugs is very poor and if they can't do it on the m6 models how are they going to pull it off on a far more complex device such as the m8? Obviously I hope they do.......only time will tell

We are not comparing the M8 to any other products, other then the iphone. The prices for iphone has dropped to around 400-500 mark, which is pretty incredible. For the M8 to beat the iphone, one aspect to beat is the price - one of the major contributing factors to consumers.

PS: please write in paragraph form sere83, makes it easier for readers.
