the hype over the iphone is stupid, i mean seriously it aint that good, i can say though i was hyped 2 see it back in Jan. but now it sucks, the meizu m8 will kick its ass at the end of the year

I think that Apple should try to make something new and innovative and not just rip of PDA's with touchscreen and put a apple logo in it. Touchscreen phones has been out for years. The hype of the iPhone makes me sick.

MiniOne will be a good PDA and Media Player, and because it will be cheap, it will be really worth the money.

iPhone is a totaly overated piece of shit.

People are: omg!!! iPhone is soo cool, you can touch the screen!!!, wtf? have people never seen touchsceen PDAs/Phones? I had one more than 2 years ago. Back then it was kinda intresting...but now, the iPhone hype is just retarded.

Something that there should be hype about is Meizu products. Very good and very cheap.

Where you can see the ideas of the iPhone (the only ones there was for the public prior to Apple showing it not too long ago!). You can also see the Meizu idea of what it was planing to do which was shown PRIOR to the iPhone being shown, note layout on the screen and alos such details as location of the 2nd camera etc..



..ok you say but what about the appearance of it, the design outside that is a direct rip-off, well maybe you are right, but if so not from Apple and not by Meizu, but from another wellknown brand in the mobilephone industry:



Also to support the fact that the Meizu was in fact developed simultaneously and on it's own is the fact that they are not at all the same size!

Does anyone know the estimated battery life on the M8? it would be awesome if it hasa long battery life.

no matter what apple always rips off someone else, i mean come on, all there products are rip offs, the computers they sell are expensive yet the components are cheap, i bet every single person here as a laptop better than the macbook pro, or a desktop better than the mac pro, and you probably spent less than $1000 on it

The Iphone will no doubt have am aesthetically pleasing intuitive GUI as apple are renowned for. However the only technology used in the Iphone that has not been used in a cell phone to date is multitouch and possibly 'visual' voicemail. Without these it is a middle of the road PDA phone with increased flash memory and video playback. The thing that irritates me about the hype is that it just adds fuel to the companies fire, sucking in more apple drones to their 'closed' software, codec and application support policy. Fooling the innocent punter into believing they are getting a good deal when really apple do not support many popular often standardized formats (eg. divx??), programs and hardware features, all under the guise of good looking aesthetics and intuitive GUI's. Engadget dropped a post recently about 'iclones' and included the m8, grouping a windows ce 6.0 based device (M8) with a bunch of cheap oem interfaced chinese knock offs. Very misguided IMO. I never thought the m6 bared much resemblence to the ipod and I think that the m8 will be a very different beast to the iphone. When you buy an apple product you are buying a brand and an ideology rather than a product itself. This is not to say they have not made some great products nevertheless. Because of apples powerful and overpowering marketing, strong brand identity and cult status it's products are always seen to be 'original' and never seen to be copies or taking ispiration from anything else, for example why is the iphone not seen as an LG Prada phone clone??? The key point in all of this is.....NO IDEAS ORIGINAL. Tbh I would like to use the iphone and try it out however I will be buying an m8 for sure (if the spec stays the same, the price is right and the battery is decent).

Windows Mobile (such as WM5, WM6 and WM7) are yes BASED ON WinCE but the Meizu is really runing WinCE 6.0, which is what WM7 is to be BASED on.

what i meant by 'based' is that the basis for the user interface will be wince6.0 and meizu will customise their own wince6.0 'based' GUI. I know that the meizu will not be running windows mobile, I originally explained this earlier in the thread.

This is at the same time my greatest concern at this point the real lack of support by 3rd party sw of the WinCE OS

how i wish that meizu wouold change the OS to windows mobile 6 instead of windows CE because many applications are not available on windows CE.
