Meizu M8 Print Ads for the Chinese New Year

Meizu recently released new print advertisements where we see the M8's price cut for the upcoming Chinese New Year to 1880 and 2380 CNY for 8 and 16 GB capacities of the unlocked M8SE, respectively. This is approximately $275 and $350 USD.

Meizu Me members also noticed that the advertisements features a new UI, similar to the one found in recent leaks, with the addition of a search bar and several smaller changes. This suggests that the final version of new firmware should be ready before the Chinese New Year (14th of February).

We wait in anticipation.

Chinese are funny, now they make it cheaper, so people will wait and not by M8 mobiles now, and on spring festival, children get money, so even more will by it, hope no shortage will accrue. Or am I getting it wrong and the price already dropped to 1880 yuan for M8SE?
Firmware 1.0 would be really cool, finally!
Maybe they also did the price drop to sell the M8 3G later within a normal price, the M8 3G hast o be more expensive than the normal one, but i think more than 2500 yuan would be too much for chinese standards so in order to sell it they have to make the “old” M8 cheaper. Just a speculation.

The price drop is minimal (5%), so this could only be a New Year promotion. Every store is going to be falling all over themselves with sales. Pretty much like Christmas shopping season as so many people are out in the stores and, in some respect, CNY is all about having new stuff for the new year.

Marking the 1 year anniversary of the official release of the phone with a final firmware has a certain poetry to it.

That's what it said in the first post, it is basically a push for CNY.

I keep my fingers crossed, even if there is still a risk the firmware 1.0 with new UI to be postponed again and again and again...

Maybe it’s included in the new leak 0.9.5.x.

I think it's already ready, I think the problems are in translating the different languages.

I agree with this as well. It's got to be a daunting task to say the least.

Here's to hoping. Meizu's track record isn't the best but it'd make sense to get it right BEFORE CNY.

there has been an app which perform searches, like filescanner (i think thats what its called) but this is definitely better aesthetically and probably in every other way, keep it coming!

They opened a MEIZU store recently just a few blocks from me.

Might wander down there, and pick one up if they really are RMB1880/ea.

Ouuh, looks nice! But why do they open a Store only for three Devices. Meizu only produces the two MP4 Players and the Meizu M8, isn't it?
