News from Meizu CEO Jack Wong
Good news! Today (3rd January), Jack Wong wrote in Meizu's official Chinese BBS…
- The new firmware (1.0) will allow you to run Windows Mobile apps. The work is being done by Microsoft, not Meizu.
- New phones (I think he means the ones that will be produced soon, not M8 3G) will use new PET touch screen (I don't know what PET is). The advantage of this screen is that it doesn't have 10*12 little dots, and it's more durable. The new touchscreen is still undergoing tests.
- Jack estimates that we will have to wait at least half a year for M8 3G.

I think when the new firmware can support the WM's apps is due to Microsoft. One fan in the official BBS guessed it's just because Microsoft wanted its Zune HD to suporte WM apps and J.wong seems acquiesce.

No. I think J.wong himself doesn't know the release date too. Though J.wong told us when to release the new fireware, you still couldn't take it serious...

Since i did not see any such newsheader that MS would do this to a standard wince tree i think it will mean that the fw 1.0 will be delayed?
Could be mistaken ofcourse..
