Android Port on Meizu M8 Coming Along Nicely
When we first reported on Android coming to Meizu M8 in June, we honestly didn't have high expectations.
Meizu's international fans have been working hard porting the system on their own over to the Meizu M8. They've come a long way, already having a working Android port on the system that anyone can download and try. The video below shows the Android port running on Meizu M8.
For more information, pictures and download, visit the Meizu M8 Android Project Page!
Update: Rumor has it that Meizu has been internally testing Android and will release a dual-boot solution similar to that created by the Meizu Me community to the public in the coming months. Source

once the drivers for the tilt-sensor are figured out maybe it can be freely rotated.
but until then, yes. this test-version is landscape only.

yes true but,
if we were meziu engineers and weīd have their resources on the hardware it would all be running.
Reverse enginering builds are not that easy to do with just a few guys who work on building drivers
so or we have patience, or we receive resources from meizu/other, or we have more people working on the drivers : it will be done.
edit, you should really be checking who are working on the android builds, that are really only the guys who are part of this forum.
canīt find any other people on other forums who are busy with it atm.

Cool Too late for me though, I've already bought an Android phone. However I wonder what you guys are going to do about the buttons... my Android has 6 (not counting the volume ones), and you do need them. Ok, the search button maybe not, but the rest... home will probably be the big button in the center, but what about menu? Or back? The OS is designed around them, without using the phone might be a bit difficult...

If i am correct those keys are not really needed cause they are just some 'shortcuts' to system actions. It is like for example all those pmpīs that are coming out, most of them do not have so much keys either.
btw what android phone do you have? you like it?
nicojoy69, hopefully you have it back soon to get started ;-)

scroll down on the main site (meizume.com). There is a picture of android in edgewise mode. I don`t know if edgewise is the right word but you know what i mean. (turned 90 °)
