evow04,
U R Welcome..
Now as for the Dual boot, I have seen 2-3 threads for it, and the XIP's...
Question, the Dual Boot XIP, is that all that is required, just to put that in the Disk Directory and then follow the normal Upgrade process...??
Also, once that is done, and I boot to And... Can I boot to the Meizu OS if I dont like that???
Further, if I do not want dual boot, can I just Flash the M8 with a NON Dual Boot XIP and everything will come back to normal Meizu OS????
Further More, with the Andriod, how do I restore my Contacts??919263

Thanked 13 Times in 8 PostsI noticed the rapidshare link for the 16gb version died...
so I was thinking... I could host the 16gb stuff.
so.. created a little ftp server where you android-cooks can upload it and then place a link here..
---
server: dropbox.inventiv3.com
username: dropbox
password: *please pm me for the password, I don't really like to post it publicly*
the download are accessible at: Index of /
---
and... please only the 16gb stuff, else it would cost me to much bandwidth

Thanked 189 Times in 130 Postsowenray,
i noticed that you could have just a basic windowshosting with colo atm?
Then i really think it is not that good idea to host it there cause the "web a" package is just 3 gb´s in traffic what is peanuts since the link would be published on an international forum :s
Don not have the package right now but i could upload back to rapidshare.
And make it redunant by uploading to mediafire also?
indeed, the idea is that it runs on both versions.all future versions will work on both models i think.

Thanked 113 Times in 35 Posts16GB tagged as a width detect fix. it can work on 8GB model too.
2.6.29 branch in andorid git kernel have 6410 mach & plat, but miss almost drivers.
I am currently patching these branch:
linux-android-aesop-2.6.29-20091011 (audio, mmc detect, wifi)
linux-samsung-2.6.29 (framebuffer, audio)
android-2.6.29 (console, staging)
these all based on 2.6.29 if I get one of it runing as well as currently 2.6.27, It will be easier than 2.6.27 to get other driver work.
patch (2.6.29-samsung-s3c6410merge.diff) I released yesterday (I post sf link on wiki but I missed the wiki now) only can pass compile. seems I need to check lcd driver tonight.
status (would update If I get some new change):
aesop: waiting disk (maybe dev / memmap)
samsung: framebuffer merging.
google: framebuffer n lms340d1 lcd merged. can't find any initial console
2.6.32-rc8: wrong serial rate after uncompress progress.Last edited by banxian; 11-21-2009 at 10:39 AM.

Thanked 189 Times in 130 Postsgreat, i will inform you when i had time to upload this.
btw owenray you could make the dualboot yourself by following the howto and by using the tinyloader patch for 16 gb from post 1..
Banxian, this sounds great!
Do you have any idea what kernel is been used for android 2.0 (eclair)?
if it would be interchangeble we could upgrade to 2.0 :-)
ps i noticed your patches on the wiki but somehow the wiki from r3wdy is still down.
Mods, is there a way to host the wiki here on the forum pages?
(but not by making a thread cause then only 1 person could edit the postings)

Thanked 189 Times in 130 PostsOwenray,
some bad news, i can not find the file anymore.
I am pretty sure i placed it on one of my hard drives, but which one and where
anyway i was thinking to build a new xip but then i realized i can not test it without m8 so that means i could make something that destroys some users there phone and that is the last thing i want.
but!
i added the needed mpack & Tinyloader download link to post 1 and i will add a link to the bbs where another tutorial stands on how to do it.
So if one has time.. let me know the links so i can update post 1
great i hope that there will not be any dataloss, if it is .. then i will try to place as much info in the first 3 posts of this topic.dunno why i will contact my hoster

Thanked 189 Times in 130 Postsand i thank you therefor

if it is you mean url you might want to add a subdomain name for downloads, then you could add a seperate ftp user in the cpanel of the hosting provider?
some mirrors are allways welcome cause links easily get destroyed..
