Thanked 189 Times in 130 PostsSo.. Nix is opensource, if meizu compiled it they MUST share the sources as far as i am aware. But it think you , Banxian, mean that you are not sure if you may release those? well.. if they are modded with your code that is similar but not the same it is not their source anymore.. right?
And since the samsung tree is freely availble as source they meet the gpl rights allready so you are allowed to publish this.
I think 16 gb users are now awaiting a 16gb rc 4 version :D
btw r3wdy how is the driver going?
ps did some googling, samsung should be the one who launches drivers..
(it is samsung their hardware)
opensource software may not be used in closed software without sharing the sources..

Thanked 189 Times in 130 PostsSkoddi,
have a try and please, please, please share some pictures and/or movie
i added the link on page 1 but renamed it as r4 version cause there are some changes like 16gb support, portrait,.. so nobody can blame me?
ps i also edited layout on page 1 cause i think it was very confusing?
Now 1 could download the xip he likes and the android build he likes without having to worry to much about the links :-)Last edited by evow04; 11-18-2009 at 07:46 AM. Reason: typo correction

Thanked 2 Times in 2 PostsDid you know?
Hey guys,
just found this great page:
Open Source - Samsung Mobile
I think the published source code could be very helpful for your project, because many samsung models use the S3C6410 MPU.
E.g.:
Samsung GT-i5700
Samsung GT-i6410
Samsung SPH-M900
I'm pretty sure a lot of interesting stuff could be found in the kernel sources.
Keep on hacking!

Thanked 189 Times in 130 PostsSkoddi, i am suspecting that it should work, cause i am very sure Banxian provided support for both systems.
BPM, if you are using unix you might want to install a virtual machine with win xp or so?to bad. i do not have any pc running windows at home.
Hi scholbert ! thanks for the interesting feedback!

Thanked 138 Times in 53 Postshow is my driver going... yesterday i tried it again with many printfs in my source to see how it goes, and got it stop at another stage of loading...
I figured out that there is a struct with function pointers, and there is a function which is used but seems in the newer version not exist anymore. Im a but confused about this.
So i just added the pointer to the struct like i found in older versions but this leaded to stop @ aquire clock. Then i moved the pointer to the end of the struct and i got kernel panic. So i think this pointer must be there but isnt used properly because its should be removed or so.
I will try further this evening.
As said i took the plat-s3c plt-6400 mach-6400 dirs from the samsung tree and replaced the dirs in m8 kernel with them to get those intern mechanics right. but now i miss some definitions...
i search further and try the kernel to get compiled this way. if i dont get it i will try to completely take the 28 kernel from samsung and apply our patches to get the whole thing. i think in 28 samsung scope the driver will work.
Edit:
if there are really meizu comments in the samsung kernel sources this is a good sign that they are workig on android
maybe they release android @ our stage but with working driver than we could do finetuning onnot :D
For those samsung phones:
Wee need to know what hardware which phone has. I think we have a very good chance to find some m8 hardware in them and use the driver provided by those kernelsLast edited by r3wDy; 11-18-2009 at 08:07 AM.
