Thanked 3 Times in 3 PostsCome on players! thanks great to hear that
so many people work on android on the M8!
Hey they have the switch off working, and manual screen rotation! that's really cool, I hope the LBE will implement it next!
It seems that with these two things (and heat problem that is still hot), the phone will be great to use!
how do you put the A7 release in english?
Edit:
I have found how to change it:
In Android (obvious), slide the app menu on the right, the go down till the bottom icons, there is a "hammer screwdriver" icon, tap it, then go to the the icon that show a "A ...", then choose the first option and change the language that you want. No need to reboot.
Congratulation again for our chinese friends for their hard work.Last edited by Lothar; 07-17-2010 at 02:33 AM.

Thanked 73 Times in 23 PostsGood news guys: Google Translate
If I understood it well, the main aspect is that the SEPA group and the LBE Team will work together on Android for M8 now! The LBE Team will put their focus on Android 2.2 and SEPA wants to work on 2.1. In the end they want to put all together to get a working Android for M8.
That certainly means that Android for M8 will come hopefully faster than we expect it.www.softnation.de

Thanked 14 Times in 6 PostsWhy they are working on 2.1? 2.2 has a very important improvement, better performence! Its not like camparing between 1.6 and 2.0.

Thanked 200 Times in 145 Postsok, the answer to your question is:
Not everybody is good at porting android to a new version or platform.
Some are better in adapting existing android to a certain device.
There is a 2.1 build that runs quite well, and no well working released 2.2
so, one team adapts the basic functions of the M8 and explores tweaks for the device while the other team works on a whole new base in hopes that muchof the things team 1 learns can be used on what team 2 does.
It is unlikely that team SEPA would stop doing what they do if anyone told them just to wait to get to start over on 2.2 ^^Meizu M8 SE - FW 0.9.9.18 (dao89 n450) Dualboot LBE A11 Android 2.2

Thanked 23 Times in 11 PostsIt´s definitely the answer. The Android teams (SEPA + AM8) surely know that 2.2 is better than 2.1. But they do have their reasons, why is the development of 2.1 better at the moment.
Be glad and grateful, that you can run Android on your m8. Don´t ask, what android teams can do for you, ask what you can do for them (thx to J.F.K.)
