Copy all the apk's of the package to the SDCard of your m8.
If you don't use them all, you can delete them later but for easiness place theme there


How to make a dualboot

To make a dualboot you need Mpack, the latest android release for the m8, and a zImage file.
The instructions to make the dualboot FW are available for download HERE!




Setting the language to English and input setting to your own language:

Open Linda file manager, or an other file manager just how you like it,
Go to your SDCard and install jp.co.c_lis.ccl.morelocale.apk
(click on it and open it with the installer, not with the file manager )
Run the program, Click on one of the names over there who are Chinese after installing.
When you hit just a program you will see thing in a different language, most of the times you can find your own language now.

Now the phone is in English.





Make it possible to hang up phone calls with the power button.

Open the settings menu, go to accessibility and activate hang up with power button.
Now you don't have to do difficult tricks to hang up, just hit the power button and the call is over.



Sync email and calendar with Google account

Go to the settings menu.
Find Accounts & Sync.
Press Add account on the bottom of the screen.
Enter your email dress and password.
Leave domain\user name and password as its generated.
Change the server to m.google.com
Leave SSL on.
Press next and there you go...


Market for android

Since the market isn't working yet there are some alternatives.
The two I got working are openmarket and slideme.
Both apk's are available for download.
Slideme is called sam2.apk.
Opermarket is called openmarket.apk



Easier input method NOT WORKING YET!

For a easy input method you can install Swype,
Swipe along the letters needed for the word you want to type and release your finger.
Its easy as 1 2 3...
See here how it works:

Install com.swype.android.inputmethod.apk through a file manager.
After installing hold down your finger for about 3 seconds on a input field and select swype to use it.




More accurate keyboard
Because I found the original android keyboard sometimes difficult to use I installed better keyboard.
Worked great, it's way more accurate then the original keyboard.
How to use: Install better keyboard (6.3).apk
Go to settings, input. Change the setting to how you like them.
Change the default input method to better keyboard.

Press and hold on a input field for 3 seconds (not the search desktop widget, you will only move that!)
Choose 'input method' from the pop up
Choose the default Android keyboard instead of the Chinese.




Open office documents on your phone

Install MSOffice-mobisystems.apk through a file manager.





Instant messaging

Install com.ebuddy.android.apk through a file manager.




Faster browsing

Install operamini.apk through a file manager.




Play media on android
Play:
avi, mkv, rmvb, flv, mp4, 3gp, wmv, mov, asf, divx, xvid, h.264, rv40 and way more
Install RockPlayer_0.2.8.apk through a file manager.




Profile manager for android NOT WORKING YET!

Activate/kill multiple settings profiles, automatically & manually
An Android application that allows you to:
Maintain settings profiles
Manually activate profile permanently or temporarily
Multiple profile capable
Install com.probeez.profiles.apk through a file manager

Get ADB Working
For me my pc wasn't able to obtain drivers for the s2c chip. After searching a while I found out this was a samsung chip.
I found the driver and will share it
Download the ADB Driver
To install go to the device manager in the config panel and search for the uninstalled hardware.
Pick the driver manually, don't let windows search for it in the directory. Say you are sure this is the right driver and let it install.
Afterwards you are able to use ADB witch is included in the Android SDK pack.

Remove pre-installed applications

Install super user permissions, (called Superuser.apk)
Give linda file manager, or root explorer super user permissions.
(hit the volume up button to get in to the menu!)
go to phone memory, /system/app
Delete the apk's from the applications you want to remove.
Reboot and voila, the application is gone!

the file or directory have to be under the "public" folder.

i got your invitation but it is only an empty folder.

Yeah, use MediaFire instead. It has the same possibilities to create folders with files in it. And it's free with unlimited storage space. DropBox has 'only' 2GB maximum when using a free account...

Does some one know here why not all the apps are in the android market?
Because apps like shazam can't be found on my m8??
But on the HTC Desire is this app well on the android market and also on the website.

Those apps may have included some requirements in their 'description'
I have noticed that the M8 for example reports something like 240x320 screen resolution to system information tools.
So there are two possibilities
a: the m8 does not meet all requirements or
b: the m8 does not report the corect capabilities :P
