I'm looking for an M6 that's broken in some way. Definitely willing to try to get one if the screen is smashed, even, since it'd be cheaper for me to try to replace a screen with my working one than trying to replace a board with another that might not work anyway. 4GB flash drives of this speed are not very expensive anymore, either, so I'm looking for cheap price if it is just the screen (I could go to Staples, a local retail price store, aka, more expensive, usually, and get the PNY expensive brand for $15 with their constant mail in rebate they have going on for them).
I have a broken 4Gb TP version. The stupid thing doesn't stay on unless I hold the power switch, for one, and even holding the switch, it does nothing but the initial white flash. I'm not getting any help from anyone about it and tried everything. I'm trying to find a broken TP version that's 4GB so I could try to replace stuff with that, but if I can see what an SP version looks like inside (large pics please?) I might be able to substitute SP board parts with a TP screen adn make a a working TP one.
Anyway, if you have a broken one, post in here and post reasonable prices for broken junk you were going to throw away anyway. I learned from trying to sell some junk at a garage sale that old junk, especially broken, isn't worth as much as you want to get for it, and it gets passed up... but make an offer to me. I don't know for sure what I'm going to do yet.
Anyway, also requesting any images you might have of the SP version player from the inside... hopefully, detailed enough to see the tiny resistors and stuff. Anyone willing to take one apart and photograph it for me, and anyone interested in seeing?I swim through a sea of stars, without looking back to shore...

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsnot powering up is usually just a loose solder joint on power button, try re-soldering as first fix. I am also looking for a working touchpad.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI sent a note to you in the other parts thread about a touchpad. Also, I checked over the whole board, and every part is soldered on there. The thing turns on fine, but I get the same thing that some get, where if you don't hold the button down, it dhuts off. I HAVE gotten it to display stuck on a formatting screen, but it doesn't do anything beyond sitting on that forever, not actually formatting anything, just displaying that image in error. I can reset it and that's it, and then I'm back to that. I only got that screen after random times of holding the power on and touching the + and - conact points with a paperclip, killing the power.
I need a new button because I crushed the other one a little and now it's hard to push. Getting cheap parts and trying to build a working one is my last resort to try to get this working perfectly fine like it already WAS (aside from the sound errors and random shutting off by itself). Hopefully SP parts can be swapped into a TP unit with a TP screen and I only need to load TP firmware to display things right.
Firepower, as for a touchpad, if I get a bad unit, I can take out the touchpad and mail it to you for free... unless they force some kind of ludicrous shipping cost to send a thing that weighs less than a piece of paper. I could also send the battery, since I don't have need, if you want it.
LOL, wow, this thread is listed in google already, right about the top of searching for a place to buy a broken M6 ^_^;;
