    How to Create Themes for the Meizu M8

    Firmware version 0.9.0.3 introduced native support for themes.

    What is a Meizu M8 theme?

    A theme for the Meizu M8 phone consists of custom desktop icons for all native applications as well as three backgrounds (call, desktop & standby).

    Specifications

    The icons used are 96x96 pixel 24-bit PNG files with full transparency support.

    The desktop backgrounds are the standard 480x720 JPG.

    The last ingredient is the configuration file, this must be titled Theme.cfg and contain something like this:

    Code:
    [Info]
    Author=MeizuMeMember
    [AppIcons]
    AudioPlayer=AudioPlayer.png
    Calculator=Calc8080.png
    Calendar=Calendar.png
    Camera=CameraIcon.png
    Clock=ClockIcon.png
    Documents=Documents.png
    Settings=Setting.png
    Sms=SmsIcon.png
    Txt=txt.png
    WebBrowser=WebBrowser.png
    Email=Email.png
    Notepaper=Notepaper.png
    PhotoViewer=PhotoViewer.png
    FileBrowser=Documents.png
    VideoPlayer=VideoPlayer.png
    All files have to be in the same folder. Zip the files, and rename the ZIP extension to MTH and place the file in your \Disk\Themes folder. Done!

    Keep it clean and always give credit where credit is due. Now, let's see some themes!!

    Wink

    Awsome...
    Great tips for themes....
    But some non clean one's would be awsome too...

    did anyone notice... the adds. on the page are from iPhone....
    What are the chances that Apple did not make this happen on purpose....

    Do the icons have to be 96x96? I noticed the first-gen "Ancient China" theme is 90x90; it's still in that latest theme pack, so are the icons just going to be that much smaller on the M8 screen?

    BTW, one (obvious) addition for Luddites like me:

    Following Err0r's guidelines in reverse, if you already have an .mth file, you can just rename it to a .zip file and then extract whatever you want to check out or play around with.

    I'm not sure about the size. If that's true, then it means that 96x96 might not be the optimal size... I'll check it out when I get the time.

    Anyone knows any application to convert the icons to 96x96. I use VSo Image Resizer but this software doesn't handle transparency.
