OFFICIALLY DISGUSTED !!!!-Finally RESOLVED
Caps are on purpose...
Had downgraded to 0915 after the messup of 0926Official.
0926 had made the phone useless, it did not giver any sound from the earpiece, so I could not attend, or make any calls.
Well, I had downgraded to 0915... it was working OK... till I again against my better judgement, after confirming from other users that it was good... upgraded to 0926SE.
Well, Not only did I not loose sound from the earpiece, I lost any sound period.
Cannot hear the ringer, any music... nothing...
So just so I can use this piece of junk for a phone at least till I buy something else (Probably an iPhone) I am now on the 0905 fW. Earpiece has sound, but cannot play any music... and ringer...
And Yeah, I did all the 9 yards... registry and all.... NO LUCK....

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsWell I am disappointed too with the latest firmwares. I could not connect to GPRS with either, even with ucweb. So I reverted back to 0.9.0.5 but everything works now. I never had problem with sound with even the newer version, so I am guessing it might be some software that some of you guys might be using/installing which I did not that interfared with the sound. Could it be possible? since I think I saw this complain before also....although I do agree with you on the disgusted part.

I doubt that Meizu would be so careless as that...It is very hard to miss firmware that kills the hardware...
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.
Players: Meizu M6 SP 4GB, iPod Touch 4G
Headphones: SoundMAGIC PL-50s, Auvio In-Ear Armatures, Bose QC-15s.

Thanked 55 Times in 43 Posts919263: did you test originals meizu earphones or some bad ones?
because i tested the original meizu earphones some months ago one time and when i have unplug them all the sound gone.
it was because the phone was still in "earphones mode".
so i plug earphones with better quality(creative EP630) and moved the jack plug(plug and unplug the earphones) until the sound comes back.
it's an hardware problem with the 3.5mm jack plug.
sorry for my bad english hope it will help you.

Firmware can never damage hardware, unless it somehow disables failsafes such as automatic shutdown at overheat.

Sorry Guys,
Just had a blow up last night...
I have tried the Headphone Jack thingy, it has not helped.
After the fiasco of ther 0926, I had downgraded to 0925 (not 0915)
That worked a little bit but I had stability issues, so I downgraded further to 0915.
SOunds were OK in that fW, so when the 0926SE cam out and waiting for 3-4 days and observing that users were stating that it was better with some bug fixes, I upgraded to 0926SE.
Well, same crap happened again
No sound from the earphone.
did a downgrade to 0915, but the sound issue was still there...
Finally had to do a downgrade to 0905....
Earpiece sound is working now, but I still cannot hear the music from the M8 Speakers.
The phone rings now ... so I am back to 0905....pre Historic fW, all thanks to Meizu's lack of understanding that a good fW is integral to a good HW platform....
What I do not understand is how come a fW can disable some of the basic features of the device, and why a registry reset / fW upgrade cannot fix what ever got messed up...??
Any Ideas???
A Ferrari car without Gas/petrol is = a pile of bricks....

Thanked 189 Times in 130 PostsYou mean it does not play music, or it does not ring, or both?
If i understood you correctly it worked in the passed with the 0905 firmware, but now it doesn´t..
so the thing you could try is opening m8 so your backpanel is been removed.
Then you would notice the pin connectors for both speakers,
you could try to play some music aloud and then try to connect an internal computerspeaker.
Just to be sure that the speakers from m8 does not provide your issue.
But if it does not makes any music you could be pretty sure it is malfunctioning of hardware..
Ps: i did notice that a registry reset /restart of phone does not allways clear to default settings, you could try to reset the registry, then restart and while booting deattach the battery for several hours...
then start up the device and do an immediatly upgrade to 0910 ?
(with out m8 been booted to the ui)

gotta agree that the latest firmware is GARBAGE.
Personally I am getting pretty pissed off at Meizu, iwish they would stop fu*king around trying to produce a new phone, and stop developing android at least until they can get the firmware for their original phone working.......
And the errors keep getting more annoying?????
Seriously, are the programmers there on crack or what?

@evow04
Does not appear to be a HW issue for the following reason:
The Ringer works, and when I get an SMS, it gives an Audio Alert... indicating that the Speaker works.
Now on the Playing Music (OR for that matter any audio file be it a song or a ring tone) the M8 does play it, I can see the slider advancing, and if I hook up my head set, I can hear it, but the sound does not come out of the speaker if there are no Headphones connected.
So most probably this is a registry issue, I have reset it a bunch of times, but something seems to be stuck...
There are folks out here on the forum who have really ripped the phone apart HW wise and SW wise, so if you have played around with the registries and can identify how to either reset the whole thing or atleaset the registry responsible for this issue, and provide instructions on how to fix this, I would appreciate, once again I am requesting for my fellow users to do something that actually should be done by Meizu, but I need help...
Thanks,
919263
Edit: I just ran the M8 Tester, and the tests were OK, If I tested the Audiom it played the sounds thru the speaker and I could hear it....
But after the test, I again tried to play asong but could not hear the sound... So in all aspects, the sound works, but the player and other sounds are not working....

Maybe you can try some firmware that you know for sure that has worked for you in the past.

Thanked 1 Time in 1 PostIs there any chance that a song or sound file you downloaded is the wrong format or damaged?
Maybe remove all your sound files and/or try a few different types of files to rule that out?

@patchirl,
The sound files I am testing with are the ringers for the phone.
The reingr I cannot hear if I play it is the same ringer I have as default ringer for the phone.
When I receive a phone call, the ringer does work. But if I try to play it otherwise, there is no sound from the speaker, now if I hook up my headset, I can hear it OK.......

I have been trying to analyze what the issue might be...
I have reset the registries, used different fW, but other than the 0905, which is the only one that has the earpiece working, but still no sound for playing music, all the later ones, 0915, 0919, 0925, 0926, 0926SE have the same issue.
No sound period, no music, no ringer.
I have been looking at this, there is something that is being carried to all the installs... and I think it is the Backup.
After each fresh fW install, I restore the contacts, and all, that is the only thing that comes to every fW that I have installed and the only common link or ingredient in each install, IS it possible that the backup that I am carrying to each fresh install may have some settings in there which were obviously screwed up, in 0926 (Backup was made in 0926) is being carried to all the fW's...???
And it does not affect the 0905 fully as it may be a different setup, or something like that, so it cannot affect the earpiece sound.
Need your thoughts on this, I have not messed with the 0905 yet, as it is at;east working as a phone, but could you guys think about this....???

Thanked 2 Times in 2 PostsWell something is clearly messed up, i'm using the SE version of the latest firmware and i followed people's instruction's on getting GPRS/Edge to work and the SE thread has a post on fixing the MMS bug.
I just tested my headphone's and there working great, i've sent and received pic's and it's worked without a problem, by far this is the best FW released, for me anyway.
